Kane pleaded with a judge to spare her teenage sons the pain of being separated from their mother when she spoke Monday during her sentencing in Montgomery County Court.Kane was sentenced to a minimum of 10 months, and a maximum of 23 months in the county jail.
Kane, convicted in August of two felony counts of perjury and less serious charges of false swearing, obstruction, official oppression and conspiracy, apologized for leaking grand jury secrets in a plot to discredit a foe whom she believed was responsible for a negative newspaper article.
Kane's tenure has been marked by controversy over the last year, much of it generated by an Inquirer disclosure that she had secretly shut down an undercover "sting" investigation that had caught elected officials from Philadelphia on tape accepting cash.Kathleen Kane was elected in 2012, and is an avid proponent of infringing on Second Amendment rights. She refused to defend a law designed to put in place potential penalties for cities that violate Pennsylvania gun law and citizens second amendment rights.
Former New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, for decades one of the state's most powerful politicians, was sentenced on Tuesday to 12 years in federal prison for collecting millions of dollars in illegal kickbacks.Dean Skelos has been convicted.
U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni in Manhattan federal court said she hoped the penalty would cause "the next corrupt politician to hesitate" before accepting a bribe.
A judge sentenced former State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos to five years in prison Thursday for running a federal shakedown scheme that caused immeasurable damage.Governor Cuomo has not been indicted, tried, or convicted.
Saw this on my local news channel. They showed Kane being led away in handcuffs after sentencing. The next day the local news stated she was let out on bail!!??????What?
While I might empathize with a convicted drug pusher who had a rotten childhood, I have zero empathy for public officials, especially lawyers, who abuse the law and office they swore to uphold.
She deserved the max penalty allowed, and in state prison, not the county clink.
I think for non-violent crimes certain people are allowed a period of time to get their affairs in order before reporting to prison
Released pending appeal.
AG Kane showed great promise. Young. Energetic. But compromised...
I should add, not that it’s right. She broke the public trust and should be treated as the common criminal that she is.

Henry Bowman should pay her a visit.
AG Kane was a power hungry POS who used her position to punish her enemies and protect her friends. She used her position to persecute political opponents. Remember the John Doe investigations in Wisconsin or that idiot Elliot Spitzer in NY. Think about the persecution turned prosecution of the former governor of VA and his wife. Then there is the DA in Texas who prosecuted Perry for vetoing a bill or what Ronnie Earl did to Tom DeLay. I could go on and on.
The politicizing of law enforcement is a real problem. Our opponents are seeking to jail us while shielding their own from any justice. In short, we are illegal while they aren’t.
People like Kane being brought down is an all too infrequent occurrence.
Disgraced Democrat Former Pennsylvania AG, Convicted Felon Kathleen Kane Sentenced to federal prison. She is a classic crooked Democrat. Indistinguishable from the rest. Pennsylvania please take note.
. . . with a 300 pound cellmate who will call her "Bunk Muffin".
Where her safety will depend, ironically, on men with guns.
Dear Ms. Kane: rot in the cell, B***h.
What about her poor, teenage sons? That’s what husbands are for I guess.
Yes. Pobrecitos.
Guess hubby will just have to act like a man, now that the person who wears the pants in the house is um, unavailable.
It’s funny how the Philadelphia news outlets barely mention this story.
But Trump said a bad word 20 years ago...
The good news now is that she can’t pass a background check. At least the law will stop one wing nut from owning a gun. I feel safer already.

Exactly right. She used her power to subvert the Republic. She deserves the maximum penalty. This sort of action is far more destructive than a single murder or kidnapping.
