The .700 WTF rifle is a beautiful example of power and engineering. This newly built rifle is shot for the first time, from the shoulder, with a monstrous cartridge.
The bullets weigh 1132 grains each and have a diameter of .700 caliber, and the cartridge can be loaded up to 2,300 feet per second. It can spit out a slug traveling 1600-1800 fps. All of these details make it a monster on par with elephant guns.
Shooting the rifle without the muzzle break would generate 150 feet per pound of recoil on the shooter's shoulder. We would love to take this rifle out for a test ride at the range. See the video here, after watching the video, would you try it out?
Ouch! Got enough shoulder problems without shooting such a beast.
Recoil doesn’t bother me that much. I’m built a bit like a silver-back gorilla... .50 BMG, 7mm, .30-06, .243, .270, 8mm... Meh...
Worst I’ve felt so far was slugs from a 10ga.
No freight train locomotives running wild on the prarie any more so I’ll stick with my trusty -06. It kicks plenty hard enough for me.
Shoulder problems? With that bull-pup design, I would be more worried about concussions.
This has nothing to do with reality.
My shoulder is still bruised from putting a few rounds through a S&W .500 mag last week. I think I’ll pass on this one.
I’m not sure how much better this would be than 12 gauge rifled barrel with 3 inch magnum slugs.
I’ll stick with my Solothurn S-18. I figure it’s big enough for most of the stuff I plan to hunt.
It’s called a muzzle brake, not a ‘break’.
I once fired and Ithaca Road-blocker. One time...
Thank you. That annoys me to no end. Breech/breach is another one that no-one ever gets right.
LMAO!!!
I think they meant 150 foot-pounds of energy.
