What a Trump win could mean for California
The Press Enterprise ^ | 10/15/16 | THOMAS D. ELIAS

A year ago, as the presidential campaign swung into high gear, no one in either major political party – except Donald Trump – took seriously the possibility he might win the Republican nomination for president.

-snip-

Meanwhile, some recent polls show Democrat Hillary Clinton winning New York by a 20 percent vote margin and California by at least 17 percent. Sure, she consistently has had a small overall edge over Trump in national polling, but with so much of her support coming from just two states, she could win the popular vote but lose in the Electoral College if Trump wins battleground states like Ohio and Florida by thin margins, still getting all their electoral votes.

So despite revelations of past vulgarity and misogyny, victory for Trump is possible, even if oddsmakers give Clinton better than a 70 percent chance of winning.

-snip-

And if Trump really does build a long, high wall along the Mexican border (regardless of who pays for it), the flow of undocumented immigrants will slow. That would raise prices for everything from hotels and car washes, roofing and strawberries, just some of the industries employing many of the undocumented.

There are signs that illegal immigrants, who often anticipate political events that may affect them, realize Trump could win. One indicator: Undocumented immigration increased considerably in late summer, with a near-record 10,000 Central Americans – most traveling as families – caught at the border in August, for a total of more than 68,000 in the first 11 months of federal fiscal 2016. Altogether, 370,000 undocumented migrants were apprehended in those same 11 months, surpassing the total for 2015 with a month to go.

When big numbers of the undocumented try to crowd in, it usually means they anticipate changes in immigration policy – and only one candidate promises that.

LOL... Liberal hand wringing

Funny how the liberals are starting to panic, but if you just listened to Fox news you would think the race was already over.

Very Excerpted...Didn't include most of the Trump bashing parts.....

If the “Last Day” Christians are correct, Hillary will win, the world will be plunged into a Nuclear War with Russia over the Middle East, we will suffer a great financial collapse world wide, and yes it will take a days wages to buy a loaf of bread. Poverty will abound, and this will set the stage for the Anti-Christ who will have all the answers.

Not nearly as much as new Democrat taxes and regulations will raise them.

The left is just feigning confidence. The truth is they’re scared to death they’re gonna lose. Too many wildcards out there for them to think this one is over.

So if they send all the illegals back does this mean the citizens will get the right lane back from green toyota lawn service pickup trucks going exactly 55?

If Trump wins what it means for California - I think about it daily.

Well, they didn’t accuse Trump of planning to use HAARP to cause the big earthquake to knock coastal CA into the ocean.

They will save that “story” for the next Wikileaks data dump!

“That would raise prices for everything from hotels and car washes, roofing and strawberries, just some of the industries employing many of the undocumented.”

And what do you think will happen when you “legalize” them and they start getting $20/hour to flip burgers?

One fly in their ointment (or is that on their face?): they bemoan the increased cost if “cheap labor” is stopped from crossing the border. But if sHrillary legalizes those masses in order to register them to vote, they will also no longer be cheap labor but rather minimum wage earning labor. And Kalifornia is a leader in setting the $15 wage floor. Not to mention the drooling unions who would love to organize those masses.

Maybe they’ll have to empty out all of those so called “schools” (unless they replace the illegals with cadavers) and then there will be Americans to take all of those low-paying jobs he’s so worried about.

It’s way past time to get some productive work from the tax drains.

From what I’m reading of your post the antichrist has already showed up in Russia and China in the past.

Aren’t there provisions on the books to allow for migrant farmworkers? A wall will not affect the price of strawberries.

Second, the implication of the article suggests that hotels, car washes, etc, EXPLOIT these people by paying less than fair compensation.

I heard that things are suppose dot have a huge uptick before the Anti-Christ steals the scene. A Hillary win would not foster such an uptick.

Actually China and Russia have never demonstrated the Anti-Christ characteristics. The US however has them all. We have become so Anti-Christ in all our actions

I thought that such uptick would entail real prosperity and several years of peace for Israel.

I'm not a Theologian, so i may be mistaken.

Very funny. Afraid that wages and thus prices will go up due to lack of cheap labor. In a state that wants to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Californicators are just nuts.
