Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's claim that the mainstream media can't be trusted is bolstered by at least four polls showing that as few as 6 percent have full confidence in what the press is writing and showing on TV.
Pew, Gallup, Facebook, Rasmussen, and the American Press Institute have all recorded new lows in media trust, dismal results that bolster Trump's charges that TV and the press are throwing "outright lies" at him, most recently charges if groping women.

A great awakening is sweeping across the land. The deceptive media has been exposed for the fraudulent propaganda that it is.
Just imagine if the GOP waged a full throttle PR campaign to completely discredit the MSM, quoting chapter and verse from media watchdog sites like Newsbusters and Media Research Center?
Just Imagine if GOP politicians went on shows like Meet The Press and This Week with the little Greek rat, and used their face time to put the hosts on trial for their network’s latest examples of egregious Liberal bias?
Unfortunately, it’ll never happen, because the GOP Establishment has a vested interest in the MSM crapping all over the GOP’s Conservative base, and describing them as knuckle dragging deplorables.
The Boehners and McConnells love being able to say “if we follow those ‘fill in the blank’ (Tea Partiers, Bible thumpers, Palinistas, Trumpkins), the media will destroy us, the Independents will abandon us, and we’ll be swept out of power”.
They love being referred to as “reasonable Republicans”. So media bias is their friend, that helps them retain their seats and their nice cushy DC lifestyle.
After the likes of CN are booed, they are shouted at, and told they are biased they still carry on being biased while telling their viewers they are not.
They really think we are really that stupid to believe them. They are so entrenched in their bias, and getting Clinton elected that they are not even seeing straight .
next stop to protest their HQ’s , and millions of us send in mail and call them telling them how disgusting they are.
This is Hitlers Germany in the 30’s, or state run media like N Korea.
People are finally recognizing that the Ministry of Propaganda is just that.
If the trust numbers for the fifth-column leftist media aren't ZERO or lower, they're biased way too high.
I was a newspaperman from 1983-2009, mostly as a business reporter/editor. The business desk is rarely one of the prestige jobs in any newsroom, so management can usually hide any token conservatives there. Not that I minded.
But imagine, if you will, the cold hatred I feel against the Leftists who are disgracing my profession.
They are conspiring to take away our freedom. They are traitors and they deserve the fate traditionally reserved for traitors.
No matter how bad things get, journalism at least has the potential of being an honorable profession. What’s needed is reporters and editors who recognize they have a public trust protected by our Constitution. A little humility helps as well.
If Trump, by God’s mercy, wins this election, he’s going to have a hard time keeping the media from inciting riots. Some creative interpretation of the treason statutes may be needed, but one way or another, these criminals need to be brought down.
In your profession you were expected to report things in a straight up, factual manner, regardless of your personal views. That is called professional integrity and respect for your readers.
I don’t know what’s being taught in J schools these days but it doesn’t seem there is much emphasis on professionalism. Then again, maybe the corruption is in the news room and perpetuated by those who manage it. Whatever the reasons, there is way too much advocacy in journalism and the people recognize it for what it is. Shame on all those who have destroyed the people’s trust.
Sadly, the Fourth Estate has become a Fifth Column.
Probably the Clintons and the Bushes are telling the LSM to “stay the course”, and not to worry about this distrust thing, it’s just a temporary problem, we will get those peons straight in line again.
They really overdid it this time, didn’t they?

Personally, I think the fact that I never attended journalism school helped my writing immensely.
Actually, I majored in economics. Most of my professors were Keynesians, which isn’t much of a recommendation these days. But economics still helps develop habits of rational thought. Today, I would say I’m an Austrian — I greatly admire Hayek and Rothbard.

My minor was economics. I would like to think it imparted a little bit of rationality into my thought processes. ;)
