Operation Mockingbird
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mockingbird
Operation Mockingbird was a secret campaign by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to influence media. Begun in the 1950s, it was initially organized by Cord Meyer and Allen W. Dulles, and was later led by Frank Wisner after Dulles became the head of the CIA. The organization recruited leading American journalists into a propaganda network to help present the CIA’s views. It funded some student and cultural organizations and magazines as fronts. As it developed, it also worked to influence foreign media and political campaigns, in addition to activities by other operating units of the CIA.
The Mockingbird never died.
Like most clandestine programs that are “banned”—the name gets changed and the security level is increased but the program marches on...
btw..how do you uncompromise a “compromised” journalist—think about it.
They’re all mockingbirds now.
I thought they already could do this and well beyond it.
I presumed that they were doing it (while wired up) in instances of entrapment.
They should be good at this, they have been successfully masquerading as law-enforcement for years and they pulled that off...
“journalistic integrity”
contradiction in terms
1.
a statement or group of words associating objects or ideas that are incompatible.
What is the big deal? Liberals have been impersonating journalists for decades.
The media willingly supports the New World Order and status quo leadership currently in D.C..I don’t know why the FBI would need to imitate them.
That train left the station a long time ago.
1. Trust? What trust?
2. Integrity? What integrity?
We have had leftists, communists and gays impersonating the media for some time now.
Hard to believe CIA not already for decades doing this.
Well, SOMEBODY should impersonate the media, because the MEDIA sure can’t impersonate the media.
And the fbi director can impersonate a real law man instead of a dnc & clinton stooge.
Now that right there is funny, folks, don't care who you are. [/cableguy]
Stuff like this could cast doubt on the objective reporting of New York Times heroes like Walter Duranty!
I don’t see how this isn’t entrapment.
This should make the press even more despised and untrustworthy than they already are.
I’m more concerned about them installing malware on the kids computer than I am about them impersonating a reporter.
Cops go undercover impersonating dealers and stuff all the time - why would impersonating a reporter be considered anything different?
But installing the malware to me would seem to require a warrant - did they have one? if not it is an unauthorized wire tap.Isn’t it?
