Poll Analysis: With Virginia now tied, Trump is rapidly closing battleground gap
Political Ref ^ | 9/3/16 | Political Ref

The shift in Virgina seems rather stunning. Only a few days ago, most pundits, including conservative ones, had written the state off. With the last two polls showing a virtual tie, that analysis is out the window. Pennsylvania is also closing, but still sits at a 6.0 point margin for Hillary, so for now, it will remain out of the index.

This shift is significant because Trump can pull into the lead just by bringing Republicans into his tent. He has not been achieving the ninety percent level of Republican support that a GOP candidate typically receives. He has been closer to seventy-five percent. If he can just get a little closer to ninety percent support, he should claim these states that often go GOP. Some of the GOP will naturally come home as we approach election day.

Too many agendas and too much disinformation. Who knows?

Do the polls include the newly reenfranchised felon vote?

Hmmm. A certain crypto-#NeverTrump'er lives in Virginia. Wonder what he'll think of this turn of events?

Hillary and the DNC need (must) spend more money.....

that is the only way to get the talking heads to speak truth...

... Sorry, "truth" and "talking heads" cannot fit into the same sentence.

If Trump can appear presidential at the debates, then he will take away Hillary’s main criticism of him. Of course, Hillary and the moderators will be trying to get under his skin and prod him into saying something stupid. Trump has a real chance at this. just like any other Republican would have, against such an awful person as Hillary.

This would be great news, but Trump cannot count on winning Virginia. When you’re running as an “outsider” and a nationalist, you probably have a better chance of winning Democratic states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. There are too many voters in Virginia who have a vested interest in the status quo in Washington.

I’ve gotten two of them registered to vote for Trump so far.

I heard some of his show on Friday and he may be ready to climb down from his NeverTrump treehouse.

I’m nervous about The Donald making a big faux pas at the debates.

I haven’t listened for the last week, but I did hear him say recently that he most likely will vote for Trump, albeit reluctantly.

What a fraud, Mark Levin turned out to be, for all his harping on how vital our Constitution is!!!
You would think it would take more for him to abandon his principles than just having a fiancee whose son worked on Cruz’ campaign!!!
What a disgraceful sad sack and hypocrite!!!
I wish Hannity could knock some sense back into his cranium—and way too many talking mountebanks!!!

BS, my friend. Millions of us in the “rest on the state” support Trump.
I’ve yet to see a single yard sign or bumper sticker for Hillary in the Northern Neck.

The dems have perfected their GOTV process (not to mention getting out the dead vote!). Without a lot of work and more support from the GOPe apparatus, Trump may not do as well in the battleground states as we hope!

I understand, but you're living in a state that Barack Hussein Obama won handily -- twice.

Terry McAuliffe -- who is so slimy you have to hose yourself down every time you listen to him speak -- is your governor.

Virginia is a "purple" state under the very best of circumstances.

About a decade ago, it was a Red State and a GOP candidate could win it walking away.
