This is one of the guys who wrote the IPCC conclusion that global warming is real. He also won the Nobel Prize for saying that markets need more government interference because information is asymmetric.

Aren’t fossil fuels taxed to high heaven already. Every time I look at my propane bill I see that a goodly portion of the cost is taxes.

Jack up the prices of fossil fuels enough and we’ll be back to using oxen to pull plows. But they’ll probably criminalize the methane output from oxen, too, so we’ll end up pulling our own plows — if we’re still allowed to make steel.
