Is the Elite Media Failing to Reach Trump Voters?
Slate ^ | July 28, 2016 | Isaac Chotiner

And in their rush to condemn Trump, are journalists betraying their values? Glenn Greenwald says yes to both.

The release of hacked Democratic National Committee emails last week was followed on Wednesday by Donald Trump’s invitation to Russia to find and release Hillary Clinton’s missing emails. Trump has since claimed that he was being “sarcastic,” but some believe that he is all too happy to rely on hacked materials to further his campaign for the White House—and doesn’t appreciate the national security implications of Russian intelligence’s alleged breach of DNC servers. Others believe that Trump’s more isolationist foreign policy ideas, such as retreating from NATO, should be discussed rationally and that the DNC hack is being used as a cudgel with which to attack anyone who isn’t sufficiently hawkish on Russia. The hack, and its political and geopolitical implications, has also occasioned a debate about whether and how the media ought to cover leaked—or in this case stolen—information.

To discuss these issues, and others, I spoke by phone with Glenn Greenwald, the co-founding editor of the Intercept. Greenwald, who lives in Brazil, is best known for his role in reporting on Edward Snowden’s disclosures of National Security Agency material; that work, which appeared in the Guardian, won a Pulitzer Prize....

The media is committing suicide.

They could simply do their job and engage in honest reporting, but they clearly do not want to do that. Instead, they tell lies to please the Elitists.

The result will be that social media increasingly influences the public, at no cost, and with greater accuracy.

Does the DNC appreciate the national security implications of Herself’s ‘extreme carelessless’ that granted everyone and their dog access to confidential State Department documents? Apparently not, since Herself is not yet in prison.

“[Trump] doesn’t appreciate the national security implications of Russian intelligence’s alleged breach of DNC servers.”

Are these people that stupid or just dishonest. Trump was referring to the 30,000 emails hacked from Hillary’s illegal server that the Russians have lying on a shelf somewhere. The server and associated emails have been shut down for quite some time. No longer possible to hack them.

Hillary has already assured us that those emails have nothing whatsoever to do with national security. They are about her yoga classes.

We are listening to NO news stories pertaining to the election. The liars can lie to each other. We have made up our minds to vote for Trump.

That's BS! Trump didn't ask the Russians to hack Hillary's e-mail. Remember - it's already been wiped (with a cloth).

Trump asked the Russians to release the e-mails - IF THEY ALREADY HAD THEM!

Journalists do not have “values”. They are RAT shills who think their jobs are campaigning for RATS and slandering conservatives.

Trump gas made mention a fee times about HRC’ s hacked server. Sarcastic? Cynical? Pissed? You bet. HRC’s disregard and annoyance towards protocol and anything militarily authoritative (i.e. regulations and security procedures) is beneath her self aggrandizing importance. Shamefully so. In a word, HRC is a walking, talking security risk and has been for decades.

Maybe people would “appreciate” these things more if the media reported actual, proven facts instead of reporting “allegations” provided by unnamed “sources” whose possible bias cannot be evaluated, as they are unnamed.

You mean like when Sarah Palin’s emails were hacked and used against her? These media lick-spittles don’t even bother to cover up their duplicity any more.
