An organization whose manifesto calls for essentially everyone who is part of the civilized world to be killed, and whose members are carrying out this plan en masse, is no more deserving of First Amendment protections than the Nazi Party of WW2 Germany, the KKK or a common crime gang. So far, I have not heard anyone in high authority (or who may soon be in high authority) explicitly call for the de-classification of strict Koranic Islam as a "religion" for purposes of applying the First Amendment. But in this video, Newt comes close. By November, we may be there.

Donald Trump needs to watch this entire interview before he makes his final decision concerning his VP pick. If he doesn't choose Newt over Pence, after Newt's response to all that has transpired today in France he is making a tremendous mistake.

Pence does not have the political "fire in the belly", gravitas, political will or the guts to come out and forth rightly say the things Newt so eloquently stated tonight regarding the war we are engaged in with Islam and Muslim terrorists. Nor does he have the will to execute and fight the war we are in.

Mr. Trump, Mike Pence may politically be the "safe choice", but given the world we are living in and the Islamic terrorist threat we now face, Pence is not the RIGHT choice. Please reconsider Mr. Gingrich as your VP pick for the sake of the country.

Newt has it exactly right.

It remains debatable whether Sharia (the political/legal system) CAN be separated from Islam (the religious faith) --- many say they can't ---but what makes this "religious faith" uniquely offensive is that Islam IS attached to Sharia.

And Sharia is not just a public ethical aspiration, on the level of "thy Kingdom come, the will be done, one earth as it is in heaven." THAT (a phrase from Christianity's most central prayer, the "Lord's Prayer" or "Our Father") is a pledge of a believer's moral behavior, not a political program.

But Sharia has 1400 years of formal jurisprudence behind it. It has been a program of political domination and conquest from Day One, and remains so. It is a legal code built for propagation by force.

People have to understand this. I think Gingrich gets it.
