Contrary to what our DC politicians and national media members want the American public to believe, Islamic terrorist Omar Mateen did not use an AR 15 to kill 50 nightclub goers in Orlando. Instead, he used a Sig Sauer MCX which he had purchased earlier in the week.
Red State explains:
Now this Sig is every bit as dangerous as an AR-15. It is sold in a semi-auto version to sportsmen and in full automatic by assorted special operations forces worldwide. The point is that it is not an AR-15 and no one, other than the media, ever claimed it was an AR-15. In fact, there is no humanly possible way it could be mistaken for an AR-15. This is not a mistake. This is a narrative. It is designed to build a consensus that the AR-15 is uniquely dangerous and contrive to outlaw it. Once that is accomplished the cry will be raised to outlaw similar weapons.
And Bob Owens writes on Bearing Arms:
All the media cares about is that theyve wrapped their anti-gun dreams on demonizing...

For 1400 years Islam has terrorized and genocided non-Islamic peoples
As President I would build H-bombs that would make the Hiroshima bomb look like a firecracker and give some terror back to Islam.
Since the facts don’t matter to the media or gun grabbers when it comes to guns, the shooter will be deemed to have used an AR-15 howitzer sniper rifle with a 1,000 round “clip”, complete with flamethrower and mortar launcher. Islam was not a factor, as this was a workplace violence incident. Therefore, no American should be allowed to own a gun. Furthermore, more Muslims should be admitted into the US, as quickly as possible. The NRA is the real villain of the story.
It’s typically bad journalism but not the best argument we can make. far from it.
Truth would destroy the left, hence the lies.
While the left is being typically disingenuous in trying to ban a particular firearm based on cosmetic details, I wouldn’t say that there is no humanly possible way to mistake the Sig for a stereotypical AR. Other than the lack of a buffer and the gas block, the upper and lower are very similar. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, or if you only catch a glimpse of the weapon, it would be reasonable to mistake the much less common MCX for the nearly-ubiquitous AR.
To quote, “At this point, what does it matter?”
It is a gun. That thing abhorred and feared by liberals. It is an emotional tool used to whip up a frenzy by Democrats. It is used to unite and build support for 4 more years of hell.
It doesn’t matter if it was an AR, a Sig Sauer, or a
Marlin model 60 .22.
Is was a gun, any gun. It doesnt matter. Nothing else does. Its the modern incarnation of evil itself. Don’t let yourself be fooled by what they call it. It’s still just plastic and steel by whatever brand name they call it. Guns are the enemy.
You have to understand first that there are NO JOURNALISTS. These people are ACTIVISTS posing as “journalists.” The AR is their propagandist battle cry for gun control. Idiots associate AR as “Assault Rifle” ... thus the killer had an AR-15 - their mantra is we must ban all Assault Rifles. AR AR AR! Ban them. As anyone who knows propaganda - you must stay focused like a laser and on point. Look at all the activists and how they are all on the same page talking about the AR-15 and how we really need to ban assault rifles. ... “It’s for the children...”
In the same time frame, local channel 4 reporter Bill Proctor, reporting on a Detroit shooting, said "Police are searching for a Smith and Wesson .357 Glock pistol"
Another drive by shooting where the witness, an old black lady, said "it sounded like an AK-47" like she knows what an AK sounds like.......
And the lies have been going on for over 25 years...........
As a side note, several evenings ago a local talk show host made the claim that automatic weapons are illegal to own. I was fortunate enough to get thru to him and correct him on air and inform him on the hoops that had to be jumped thru in order to get one and how much a typical M-16 might cost.........
Don’t attempt to educate gun-grabbers.
They will only use whatever you tell them against you. They will never, ever come around to reason and intelligence.
They are born this way, and they will die this way.
The media is usually confused about firearms because they don’t understand them or know anything about them. Many regular citizens who are sometimes witnesses to shootings are just as confused. The victim who was shot in the legs inside the club referred to hearing shots in the club as “shotgun blasts.” It probably would not be appropriate to make fun of him for not knowing the difference - in his mind that is how he categorized it.
My wife knows nothing about football. She has tried to learn a bit because I enjoy watching it, but posters on an ESPN story where she was interviewed would probably have a field day with the mistakes.
Same thing with magazines and clips. The beat goes on. This is not the argument to hang the hat on. It is probably fair for the layperson to categorize the Sig rifle as being an AR type rifle or in the AR family. Based on the commonalities it would be classified there if it were an animal (kingdom, family... all the way to genus, species).
This “debate” will never be won with semantics. The debate will come down to the middle of the classification process - i.e. - military caliber or high velocity, high-capacity, semi-automatic rifles. The argument will never be won on the semantics of “gas impingement vs. piston”. That is just as ridiculous as the “assault weapon features” list for the 1994 AWB or making fun of the victim who described gunshots as “shotgun blast” or someone who had a semi-automatic pistol pointed at them describing it as “having a clip.”
Expensive taste in guns. But then if your only going to use it once then die. I guess, cost doesn’t matter.
What kind of gasoline are you pouring on a fire, giving us facts? We don’t have facts. We don’t need facts. We don’t got to show you no stinkin’ facts.
That’s it!!! Damn the NRA for making them legal!
