My wife and I are holding on by the slenderest of threads. Both of us used to have decent jobs with benefits. Those days are long gone.
Ours [BC/BS] have gone berserk, too.
Was a flat $5 copay, no matter what.
Everything has gone *way* up.
As far as the thyroid meds, one of my Dobes has been taking Soloxine for 6 years but now, the vet can’t get it anymore and we’re using some crappy generic, instead.
Some kind of FDA jazz about ‘off label use’ and scarcity.
Really, really ticked about it.
It’s bad enough to wreck my meds but my dogs, too?

Many, many of us are holding on by the skin of our teeth, I can’t believe how sky high groceries have become I have a small catering business and my sales ave continuously gone down over the last 5 years I have started doing and delivering birthday cakes to supplement the income I used to have!!! Pharmaceuticals have also been going WAY UP!!!
The only good thing is that due to my 100% disability with the V.A. I don’t pay a dime for any medical expenses. But how long will that last? A country that will elect an Obama or Clinton could easily take that away.

It hasn’t gotten easier but I think easier to handle. We have more wiggle room and we want less. We live simply and frugally because we are happy that way.
Just be thankful for EVERYDAY you have those benefits and continue to pray everyday that Hildabeast does not win this election Trump WILL take care of our vets and your DESERVED benefits will be safe!!!
Racial anxiety among the poor white working class? Give me a break. That’s a load of bull. Anxiety from lack of good jobs, inflation making it impossible to get ahead, and all the other crap sandwich served by the liberals.
Obviously, since they are working, they aren’t content to just sit on their butts and do nothing, while feeding at the trough.
It’s true. Poor whites are the nation’s whipping boy. Blacks and Hispanics are favored classes.
Honestly, it’s the insurance companies. Pay cash for the thyroid Med. I do and it’s $11 or $12. You don’t need to use the insurance and ask for the cash pay discount(s).
If cash is cheaper, my pharmacy will usually ask me which way I want to pay.
Some non-whites seem to be “taking back” from communities that which was never theirs, but many of those things could be theirs if they only knew how to go about getting it on their own. At the same time, whites are expected to “give back” to a community that they and their predecessors helped to build. When I step back and look at what has been happening with the US black population, I see how their lots in life today are not so much the direct result of their ancestors having been slaves but as a somewhat indirect result of dumb luck. As it turns out, they just happen to have not been able to deal with their own problems to the extent that they can overcome those difficulties without making their problems everybody else’s.
