That’s sad it was stolen...I’ve had several items stolen through both the post office and being left outside the destination. We have allowed a culture to prosper...a sick culture of “I’m just goin’ take yo’ sh?t.” Good finding it.

I wouldn’t say this to the old gentleman who is saddened by this loss, but . . . .

The inscription on the back indicates a giclee’ which is a high quality print often on canvas and often coated with varnish to look exactly like an original.

I say this because the artist has listed a “Cat No.” meaning a catalogue number in the description and has not mentioned original artwork.

I have never seen an original painting referred to by catalogue number in its description.

It is personally inscribed and that may have some sentimental value to the old chap. Otherwise, meh.

Go look at this site. It is a registry of art loss sites on which the stolen painting can be added. Includes artloss.com and the FBI site.
