An Austrian middle school teacher is being investigated by prosecutors after telling her class the prophet Mohammad was a child molester.
Mohammad’s third wife Aisha was nine years-old when the marriage was consummated. Apparently, telling the true story of Islam is forbidden in Austria today. Vol.at reported, via Vlad Tepes:
A middle school teacher allegedly referred to Mohammed as child molester in front of her pupils. The prosecution was informed; the provincial education department now awaits the investigation.
A Bregenzer teacher is said to have described the founder of Islam as a child molester in front of her students. “Yes, there is this allegation against a teacher,” the provincial educational counsellor Bernadette Mennel confirms the corresponding complaint. The education department had immediately forwarded the case to the prosecutor.
They check whether the allegations are true. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information on the case is currently available through the state school board. If the allegations were true, the teacher would have to face consequences. “Such statements are unacceptable,” stressed Mennel to VOL.AT. However, they would await the outcome of the prosecution, before making decisions.
The accusation that Muhammad was a child molester is not new. It refers to Mohammed’s third wife Aisha bint Abu Bakr.
She was betrothed to Mohammed at the age of six years, and according to tradition at nine years the marriage was consummated.
She should be given that country’s highest civilian medal.
Truth speaks for itself; it needs no defense.
What’s to investigate ?

Why should she be in trouble. She was teaching them history. It is historically documented that Mohammad had a 6 year old wife. It would be like telling the student Jared Fogle was a child molester.

And he put in his book of instructions that anyone who objects to anything about Islam should be killed.
It is impossible to reform Islam as a result.

muslims deem a ~45 year old man having sex with a nine year old boy or a girl as perfectly acceptable behavior. That’s what this is really about.

If you read some of the Muslim apologists who defend against his charge, they don’t attempt to deny the facts at question. To do that would be to contradict their “holy” books, and they can’t do that.
So all they are left to do is say things like “Well, Aisha’s parents approved the marriage”, or “everyone was marrying six year olds and sleeping with nine year olds at that time”. They don’t even really try to deny that he was a child molester, they just make excuses as to why it was somehow “okay” for him to be a child molester.

Well, when a country makes laws that make it illegal to “disparage religions”, then the fact that you were only telling the truth is not a defense.
Now, I am still waiting for the first radical atheist to be charged with a crime for “disparaging Christianity”. They do it constantly, but I guess the prosecutors in these countries are trying to amass a real mountain of evidence before they bring those cases to court :)
According to the most accepted (by muslims) hadith by Bukhari, Aisha was six at marriage and nine at consummation.
