Jackson loses the battle of Political Correctness
Canada Free Press ^ | 04/24/16 | Jeff Crouere

In 2016, angry citizens tired of being abused and mistreated are looking for a leader like Andrew Jackson once again

In many of our history books today, Christopher Columbus did not discover America, instead he was a ruthless white European marauder who brutalized peaceful indigenous people and helped spread disease among their midst.

This type of historical revisionism was on full display this week when one of our greatest Presidents and military heroes, Andrew Jackson, was removed from the front of the $20 bill. Eventually, he will be featured on the back of the bill, while the image of Harriet Tubman, an African American slave who escaped and led hundreds of other slaves to freedom, will adorn the front.

Harriet Tubman was a pro-2d Amendment Republican.

Interesting how both the left and us chose what we want to think.

Jackson had no respect for the Constitution or individual rights. He turned the party of Jefferson into the party of big government.

I imagine the commie libs at the Treasury Department will want to show Jackson riding in the back of a bus on the back of the twenty.

This will all be forgotten after the election.

The cruel slaveholder George Washington will be next to be replaced by Cesar Chavez.

Jefferson should look out for being replaced on the nickel too.

Of course there may be a benefit to all this:

People most often snort cocaine through a twenty dollar bill (ala “hand me a ‘Jackson”). The idea of snorting through a ‘Tubman’ could significantly reduce drug use in this country.

Harriet was a great Republican against Democrat slave owners.

History gets revised all the time. There's nothing wrong with it. Old bias and myth gets thrown out, new truths are discovered and new bias and myth creeps in.

There is lots to like about Tubman and lots to dislike about Jackson. Maybe my children will replace Harriet Tubman with Steve Jobs.

You all completely miss the point.

This is less about honoring blacks of some historical significance and more about slapping white America in the face.

Jackson was not perfect, but he did do great things and was of great significance to the country. Far more than Tubman, in fact. Indeed, I can think of several black figures of greater importance than Tubman.

If this was a rotating change in currency every several years, I could see it. As a “permanent” change, no. Not a chance.

This is all about PC and kicking Whites, indeed, America, to the curb.
