If all else fails, you can download the Windows 7 isos from the Microsoft site.
First use this utility to get the Windows installation key from your current installation.

Next go to the Microsoft site.

Download and burn to DVD whichever version you have and you can do a clean install using the key you obtained above.
Finally, go to Sony’s site and download the hardware drivers for your PC.

To see if you have a hidden partition where your Sony backup is then do the following:
Start button> then right click on Computer then click on Manage.
Under Storage click on Disk Management
If you want to resize or add a partition use this free program:

Also once you make backup then disconnect the external drive as there are ransomware viruses out there where you will lose all your files.
