Wisconsin's Department of Justice has issued 300,000 concealed carry permits since the law went into effect in 2011.Part of the success of the Wisconsin permit system is that it does not require fingerprints or pictures. It uses the existing electronic background check system available to all police to check permit applications. It has a wide variety of options to meet the training requirements. The cost of the permit has been reduced from the original $50 to $40. It could drop further. Wisconsin law requires that permit revenues not be substantially higher than the administrative costs of the program. In a press release, the AG said that he was proud of the program's success.
The department says concealed carry applications have been at record high levels in recent months and the high interest shows no sign of subsiding. According to a news release, the department's Crime Information Bureau has processed more than 19,500 concealed carry applications since the start of this year alone, putting it on track to far outpace last year's 45,500 applications.
Attorney General Brad Schimel said in a statement that Wisconsin has always had a rich tradition of firearms ownership and he's proud to help citizens exercise their Second Amendment rights.
THAT is an interesting statistic.
I wonder how one would go about compiling one for all states. Including the “May Issue” states and never issue states.
And Vermont is also one of the least violent places in North America and has never required a permit to carry a handgun either open or concealed. Gun prohibitionists really are that detached from reality, aren’t they?
It is hard to do. Not all states keep statistics.
But where you can find the statistics, permit holders are more law abiding than police; and far more law abiding than the general population.
“I wonder how one would go about compiling one for all states.”.........
Although NOT a state, start with Chicago, you would be overwhelmed before you finished the first six months.

With radical muslim barack obama injecting our country with 10,000 more muslims, it's no surprise that gun sales have gone up every year -for the past four years.
The FBI processed a record number of firearms-related background checks last year, indicating that more guns were sold in 2015 than in any previous year in American history.
More than 23 million checks were processed through the National Instant Background Check System in 2015, an all-time record.

Also when you look at the ethnicity for Wisconsin, it consists of 7.1% blacks. If you compare to Tennessee which has a much higher violent crime rate you will find that 17.3% of its population is black. I don’t have the time to do a regression of black population vs crime rate by state, but I’m guessing that you would see a statistically significant correlation between the states with a higher fraction of blacks and their thug culture and a higher violent crime rate
What was the rate before the law?
You could actually look at Tennessee even closer and see that the higher murder rate is probably a great deal due to the Memphis region alone, as I believe the Nashville (central) and Knoxville (eastern) regions have only low to moderate violent crime rates in comparison.
The average number for 2012 was over 105,000. The average for 2013 was 175,000, and 223,000 for 2014, and 260,000 for 2015.
He means the number of concealed carry permits is what is rising so sharply.

EXCERPT:
In 2006 the Department of Justice issued a report on violent felons in large urban counties. It covered the period from 1990 to 2002, and included the 75 most populous counties in the United States. The study accounted for over half of all the murders in the United States in the covered period.
Revealed in the study was a simple breakdown of the demographics of the murderers that is not commonly available. Murderers were divided into three groups. Blacks were the most numerous at 46%. Hispanics were next at 27 percent. Non-Hispanic whites were last at 23 percent.
From the CDC:
Murder rates are a function of culture.
Demographics are a cultural indicator.
