Tavis Smiley to Megyn Kelly: Trump, Cruz Running ‘Segregated Campaigns’
Mediaite ^ | April 6, 2016 | Josh Feldman

Posted on 04/06/2016 8:23:16 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Tavis Smiley criticized the top two Republican candidates on Fox news tonight by saying they’re running “segregated campaigns.”

He told Megyn Kelly that Trump simply lacks the humanity, civility, and integrity to be president, and between that and his hateful remarks against minorities, he shouldn’t be president.

Smiley did have some criticism for Democrats––they’re taking the black vote for granted––but also said that black people shouldn’t be expected to vote for Republicans running a “segregated campaign.”

He said that Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have not engaged in minority outreach and let other groups know that their votes matter.

Smiley likened this to if President Obama only campaigned in the ghetto.

TOPICS: Conspiracy; Politics; Society; Weird Stuff
KEYWORDS: blacks; cruz; tedcruz; trump
Of course, if they did significant "minority outreach" he'd complain about that.

The fact of the matter is that blacks , historically , don't identify with the Republican party .

Has Cruz gone to a majority white county of NY yet? What was his campaign thinking running into the barrio?

“Minority outreach” is a fools game. Purchase 2 votes in the minority community for a cost of 5-7 votes elsewhere, lost at the margin because of the effort to garner black votes.

You’re seriously criticizing Cruz for that?

I saw Tavis on both Bill O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly, and Tavis was saying the same thing on both shows about Trump.... that Trump is a racist. Both Bill and Megyn asked Tavis to name one thing that Trump had done or said that was racist. Tavis, both times, said, “Well it’s just the way he talks, he’s so racist.” Never came up with anything.

As for not campaigning to everyone: I’m pretty sure Trump’s rallies are open to anyone and everyone. Clearly they must be, since plenty of protesters get inside the rallies.

They should be doing precisely that and for very obvious reasons.

He told Megyn Kelly that Trump simply lacks the humanity, civility, and integrity to be president, and between that and his hateful remarks against minorities, he shouldn’t be president.

Then both he and Megyn orgasmed from their slander-fest, and then continued on with their mutual giggle-vomiting.

The fact of the matter is that blacks , historically , don't identify with the Republican party .

Not entirely true. The fact of the matter is that blacks have identified with the Democrat party (the party of the KKK) only for about the last 75 years or so.

Prior to that, blacks were almost universally Republican. They were emancipated by a GOP President, and there were many elected to public office during Reconstruction, and they were very much Republicans up through the early 30's.

The inversion that the Democratic party has accomplished with the black vote is unbelievable. They have done so only by creating the welfare state, establishing an insidious system of dependency which has been the single most destructive force in US History against the black family unit. Its misguided and short-sighted dogmas couldn't be more devastating to American society.

It's the most sinister and evil abominations the federal government has ever created.

Only when it is repudiated by those who are trapped within it can society begin rebuilding critical family-centered cultural and civil infrastructure.

The GOP needs to reconnect with this voting bloc, and there's no reason they couldn't.

What about Bernie Sanders, the new George Wallace. He can’t win a state with more than 10 people.

He said that Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have not engaged in minority outreach......

This is because, Tavis, conservatives don't put people into groups in the first place. Minority "outreach" during a campaign is just talk. Travis seems to be saying "give us words, please, but anything substantive, we don't want that because if it works, we have to stop wallowing in victimhood".

Republicans advocate for vouchers in education, what about this isn't "outreach"? Too substantive, and too likely to wreck the victim train, I suppose.

" Just give us more words, please, that way I can keep my people down."

The GOP needs to reconnect with this voting bloc, and there's no reason they couldn't.

Trump is the only candidate who can get more than 10% of the black vote. Not by pandering to race hustlers like Smiley, but by looking out for the real economic interests of working people or all races.

If he's the nominee Trump will get over 20% of the black vote, mostly from working class black men.
