Atlantis sank? I thought the ancients flew it to the delta quadrant! ;-)

Seriously best wishes with your book.

Thank you, and thanks to all who have been such an encouragement. I just got my first review for this book, and it was a good one.

~~Deceptions/Dreams/Deaths~~

Prince Taldirun (Tal) is a son of King Fa’amuil and has other brothers and sisters. At the beginning of this novel, Tal’s eldest brother, Galius will be in an upcoming battle. From the onset of this book, the reader learns that Queen Jala is not one to be trusted. Prince Tal has a childhood friend, Meleus that remains loyal throughout the battles and betrayals that occur in the future. General Praset also plays a pivotal role in the plot as does his daughter, Siande.

The battle scenes involving the chariots, the spearmen and the bowmen are extremely well written. As a reader, I felt as though I were close enough to hear the ‘snorts’ of the horses and the moans and groans of the fallen on the battlefields. Prince Tal’s dreams were also full of wisdom and advice which thankfully he followed. The dreams brought Tal a clearer understanding of truth, dishonesty, greed, and mercy. To paraphrase a part of one dream concerning being merciful... be merciful when you can and resolute when you must. Just excellent advice to be given to the Prince.

There are a lot of deceptions swirling around Prince Tal. Thankfully, he is wise above his years and recognizes the ones that are untrustworthy. A most interesting book that also illustrates the power of the royalty in that era and the power of the High Priest.

The plot is solid, the characters are strong and action abounds throughout. Looking forward to the next one in this series.

Most highly recommended.
