Americans fear a life of 'dead-end crap jobs with crap wages'

Jo-Ann was a child prodigy who went to college at age 14. She graduated and landed a coveted job at Citigroup.

Soon she was flying around the world leading meetings. Then she jumped to a management role at a financial printer. She was middle class, maybe even on her way to the upper middle class ... until the tech bubble burst. And September 11th hit.

The U.S. fell into a recession and companies cut back. In 2002, Jo-Ann was forced to train the Indian workers that would replace her.

After she was laid off, she struggled to find a good paying job. She melted down her savings and 401k. She got into the trap of working "dead-end crap jobs with crap wages," including a stint at Walmart.

Her life went from American Dream to Bust. Today she's in her mid-40s and makes $11 an hour processing payments at a financial firm despite being college educated....

Anither reason to vote for Trump.

“Make America great again” and make it the land of opportunity again.

This is exactly (exactly) why I am strongly for Donald Trump.

He is the ONLY GUY in the last generation, saying one single word about our current trade disaster.

And he is saying quite a bit about it. Trump is saying things which I have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for anyone. One single person even. To have the temerity to stand up and say.

This is EXACTLY why I support Donald Trump.

You nailed it.

Conversely, they appear to perfectly fine with a future of collecting welfare checks, food stamps, reduced housing, Obamaphones and a dozen other freebies.

Weird.

I don’t understand. I left Manhattan 10 years ago working in a presentations center only knowing advanced PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

no programming. just Formatting for bankers. If you were good you made 60k, very good 75k, etc.

If you knew the high end stuff like photoshop, 75 plus wasn’t hard.

not a fortune but not peanuts if you live on Staten Island and commute.

I work overnight on Staten Island now for health reasons, but still get calls every now and then to see if I want to do presentations anymore.

Offering 30 an hour, which isn’t Great, but certainly isn’t 11 like this lady is making!!

Oh, come on, liberals want to raise that to $15 (mostly because union wages rise in direct relation to minimum wage increases...) It will still be a dead end job, and as all costs will go up, it will still be crap wages, plus higher taxes.

Wait till you finally qualify for retirement or Social Security and under Obama this year, you don’t even get a piddly COLA (Cost of living raise) but your government is throwing open the doors to illegals and other refugees that the government will support forever on welfare and Obama care and YOU pay for it!

So Americans promptly voted for a Marxist community organizer for President twice and are threatening to elect a mentally unbalanced, sick old woman as his replacement because her likely opponent is “too mean.”

America, when you’re looking to blame someone for the country collapsing around your ears, just take a nice long look in the mirror.

The democrat economic plan doing what it does best, making people miserable and ruining their potential.

Around the time of the meltdown I left a miserable job at a university as a lowly staffer before I had a nervous breakdown.

What started out as an OK job in a small manufacturing place turned out to be a dead end. I was the most qualified person there but it turned into a drudge fest that lasted 18 months. I needed medical insurance. They had a good plan and I used it twice. Two trips to the ER.

After I left, I went through some decent paying and fairly good run contract gigs. There was one exception and that is why I will never deal with a bank. Those experiences and apparently the good reputation I built somehow got me out of the wilderness into the best job I ever had.

It’s going on 3.5 years now. I hope to stay.

At times I was out of hope and pretty much everything else. There were a few bouts of being penniless too. However I kept going. Being too stubborn to give up had a lot to do with it.

But not a word from yet another Texan about Americans being replaced foreigners and or forced to train their foreign imported worker replacements.

Looking sharp Texas.

This country deserves the misery and the dead end, underpaying, crap jobs. The stupid people of this country elected 0bama twice, in big numbers and they are itching to get to the polls to put Hillary in office over that sexist bigot Trump. Sure the polls may show the people believe Trump will superior on economic matters, but its more important we not ne sexist and racist.

and YOU pay for it!

But the sad truth is that nobody pays for it when it becomes additional national debt. It's just magic money....

Not that smart having to settle for an 11 dollar an hour job.
Must be what the colleges spew out.

I never went to college, but worked my ass off and had a business. I did hire a woman who was a college professor that had an MBA and taught it at a university. Good resource, but she was a democrat. Weird how they teach them good but fail to teach them to make the connection in how to be independent and productive. Learned that on my own without the anchor of academia.

It is the gubmint plantation strategy. Why work for $8 an hour when you can make nearly that sitting not the couch courtesy of Uncle Sugar? I think that is how many of the people collecting “benefits” see it.
