According to the latest primary results compiled at Green-Papers, it is certain that it will be impossible for Ted to reach the 1237 delegate count or comply with Rule 40 for the nomination. See the link, analyze the stats. and tell me, Why is Ted still in this race?
At a glance, these races look to be easy pick-ups for DT. New Jersey (WTA) 51; Arizona (WTA) 58; New York (WTM) ~71-95. Since there are only 906 bound delegates remaining in this race, and Trump is positioned very very well to take 180 of them, Ted is left with 726. There is no path to victory. Only obstruction. Game Over.
Why did you wait until today to join Freerepublic?
Think hard .... why, indeed.
Welcome to Free Republic.
I suspect you’re about to have a hazing.
Heidi is nagging him
Every day is a good day to join Free Republic.
Cruz is part of the GOPe plan to steal the nomination from Trump and the Country from us Americans.
Get 1,237 and Cruz and most of his supporters will support the nominee.
Why doesn't that work for Trump Supporters? Why?
How do skies become gracious?
Yeah, but hassling newbs is one of life’s simple pleasures.
He’s so close to fulfilling Rule 40 that it isn’t even funny.
Yes but Teddy’s boys tell me he can do a reverse ju-jitsu move and win in November if we give him the nomination.
He’s 25:1 on the Euro sites, so if they bet their 401k money, they’ll be the next John Paulson.
So it will be interesting.
Neither will Donald have 1237 going into the convention.
And he won’t have 1237 after the second ballot either.

You DO know that only homos sign onto FR on March 17th?
Beware the gay furries of March.
Yes it’s impossible for Ted now. But he has campaign debts. So Neil Bush and Lindsey Graham are going to help him out!
Actually I give no weight to Lindsey’s offer to fund raise.
First, Lindsey is a known attention seeker. Members of the press, when they are finding it difficult to find a member of Congress to talk about a controversial issue, can always rely on good ole Lindsey to talk up a storm. He’ll talk about anything for a photo-op.
Second, not that many in SC like Lindsey enough to come hear Ted and him, much less write checks to what looks like an impossibility.
That leaves DC lobbyists who will demand certain terms of Senate legislation. So Cruz will need to sell out completely.
You are smokin something. Cruz is only conservative except maybe lee in senate. Not like that “New York Liberal Progressive” Trump. Who changes what he says by the hour.
Most people who are both regular voters & Trump supporters, would support Cruz if he were nominee.
The masses of new voters Trump is bringing in largely won’t though. They were politically apathetic prior, and would revert to being as such if Trump is denied nomination.
“it is certain that it will be impossible”
If it was certain, then it would simply be impossible.
Trying to convince yourself it would seem
IIMHO, the best thing Ted could do wpould be as soon as his pledged number of delegates and Trumps pledged number of delegates combined crosses the number needed for the nomination...to end his campaign and endorse Trump with an agreement that at the convention he would be selected as VP.
This would:
1. Unite the vast majority of GOP voters.
2. Deal a mortal blow to the GOPe.
3. End all talk and speculation about any brokered convention.
4. Establish a ticket that would win in a landslide in November.
5. Potentially set up a 16 year long run for turning America around.
Anyhow...just something to think about.
I am a Cruz supporter and I have written him encouraging that hje do just this.
