Scarborough: If Rubio Is Supposed To Be Half As Good As They Say, Why Has He Failed So Miserably?

MSNBC: 155 delegates are at stake for the Republicans in Tuesday's primaries and caucus, and there are growing calls for Marco Rubio to exit the race. Should he? The Morning Joe panel discusses.

Joe Scarborough said Tuesday's primaries will result in a "brutal day" for Marco Rubio. Scarborough asks his panel what Rubio has to gain by staying the race, where he consistently finishes in third and fourth place.

Scarborough asked if Rubio is "half as good as his fans in the media" say he is, then, "what has happened to his campaign? Why has he failed as miserably as he has?"

"What's happened with Marco Rubio?" Scarborough asked Tuesday morning. "Here's a guy that was supposed to be -- and people are still writing as if he is just -- God's chosen candidate for the Republican party. Still writing and calling him a once in a generation candidate. I can't believe what I am reading."

"Let's say he is half as good as his fans in the media had claimed he had been over the past year and a half. The same people that were bashing me for telling the truth about him, that he just wasn't that good of a candidate, wasn't going to do well. But let's say he is half that good. What has happened to his campaign? Why has he failed as miserably as he has?" Scarborough asked on Morning Joe.

Scarborough hit the Rubio campaign for employing a bunch of "Baghdad Bobs."

"The Rubio campaign employes a bunch of guys that could have been Baghdad Bob's stand-in in the first Gulf War. They tell you that Marco won when he lost and just say things that just aren't true," Scarborough observed....

He has failed because he is a Gang of Eight Vichy Republican. The enmity that was focused on his kindred spirit Jeb Bush is now left to him. He will not, however, bow out, even if he loses his own state because his JOB right now is to draw votes away from Trump or Cruz so neither could reach 1267.

Because the voters aren’t as dumb as the GOPE thinks they are.

What happened to Rubio's campaign? He was one of the few reliable conservatives in the US Senate, except for his black hole of a blind spot about the invasion of the US. FL voters hated him for that, justifiably so. Instead of Rubio coming around, as it looked like he might be doing, he began to look weak on immigration.

But he was still the grown up in the room. Trump said it best. Being negative doesn't work for everyone. It's hard to imagine why he got in the mosh pit with Cruz. I've said before, with the Cubans on attack together, it felt more like a coup than a campaign. Whoever gave Rubio that bad advice?

So now, Rubio's gone, probably part of Ted's scheme. And Cruz put Neil Bush on his team. So now all but the most brainwashed Cruz supporters have to finally get it.

Nobody but Trump is acceptable anymore. The elite have become the "Wizards of Oz" and the curtain's been opened wide. What was behind it is pretty ugly.

Agree, the curtain is wide open, it's the multiple doors behind the curtain that needs to come swinging open.

Jeff Sessions had the strength to come out and support Trump.

How many others want to come out but are afraid of the repercussions?

Maybe a Florida win will get those that want to support Trump up off their rears and support him.

Rubio was on an upward trajectory with his support from the establishment when he got caught in his robotic deer in an empty suit moment when Christie attacked him in the debate for being a programmed candidate devoid of a core.Been all downhill from there

Channeling Trump wasn’t a good idea. Just makes him look like a phony baloney, plastic banana.

Rubio is the GOPe pathway to a brokered convention. Rubio and Kasich hanging around ensure the GOPe prevent Trump from getting to the magic 1273 total delegates for the nomination.

The reason is because he’s not half as good as you say. Thanks for playing, Joe.

mookabooker got elected U.S. Senator here in Florida by claiming to be a tea party member.
He lied about not supporting amnesty and as soon as he got in office became a proponent of the gang of 8.
I hate liars and thieves and Rubio is just that.

He didn’t “fail miserably.” By the time voting began, the contest had boiled down to who would emerge as the challenger to Trump. There was a scrum, and any of four candidates had a reasonable chance of popping out with the advantage. Rubio hurt himself in the debates, Cruz edged ahead, and that was that. There were (and still are) too many spoilers in the race, which has confounded calculations and given Trump his opening.

Put on Fox. No kidding - All I heard was “CRUZ WINS IDAHO!.” The second story was “CRUZ PICKS UP DELEGATES!”

So I guess they’ve moved on from being all-Rubio-all-the-time to all-Cruz-all-the-time. Trump who? I didn’t even hear his name mentioned!

What blatant propaganda.

... Oh, I’m sorry. They’ve moved on to Trump. Now they’re mocking him.

They said Trump will be on at 7:30 EST.

I watched Fox’s coverage after the Trumo press conference for about ten minutes of Megyn, Kraut, and some other stooge engaging in constant snark, in-group adolescent humor, and giggling about what a loser and idiot Trump was, and then I shut it off.

More evidence, as if any were needed, about the nature of The Conservative Movement™ - globalism wrapped in the flag.

Yep
Pretty much pushing whomever the establishment wants.
You have to know the GOPe is biting their tounges in backing Cruz but they known they will never have power with Trump.
I can see Rubio parking cars at the Fountain Bluau next year

He will never recover from his association with the gang of eight. He made no amnesty an issue to get elected and then promptly flipped and supported amnesty in the gang of eight.

Scott Rasmussen talking about how it’s virtually impossible to think that Trump can will enough delegates to clinch the nomination, then pushes Cruz.

Brian Kilmeade talks about what a great ground game Ted Cruz has.

Gee... WHAT memo?
