I don't know which FReepers have a Netflix account, but...
The new season of House of Cards came out today; who's excited about it? Thoughts? Predictions? Don't forget spoiler warnings for comments, BTW.

My wife will be. For me, the current real life drama far exceeds anything Hollywood can muster.
Great series. The fact that Bill Clinton said that the show, which features a democrat politician willing to do anything to advance including murder, is 99% true to life in DC is all you need to know about Bill.
Yes! Waiting to have time to watch.
Very excited to see Mr. and Mrs. Underwood take each other on.
Love the show. Also, I am 100% sure that the casting call for Claire went something like this:
WANTED: Woman who looks exactly like Mika Brzezinski. :D
I found season 3 underwhelming. Not enough to quit the show, but enough to move season 4 from “must see immediately” to “I’ll get to it”.
bump
I recommend this, if you haven’t already seen it.
The current “House of Cards” is based on it and it is still relevant today,
It’s excellent!
House of Cards (UK TV series)

House of Cards is a 1990 British political thriller television drama serial in four episodes, set after the end of Margaret Thatcher’s tenure as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. It was televised by the BBC from 18 November to 9 December 1990, to critical and popular acclaim.
I just started watching HOC 2 days ago.
Love it so far. I don’t know how any normal human being can be a politician. They are horrible horrible human beings.
Amen.
Just got ROKU. Netflix and Amazon. Over the past month we have lost several days, nights till three or four AM. We just caught up to Downton Abby. One third into S.O.A. Caught up on Last Man Standing. Haven’t even started on House of Cards, Homeland, Walking Dead.....I am 75 years old. I will croak before I can catch up to everything.
Put “Breaking Bad” on your list.
Saw all of Breaking Bad....but Here Comes Saul...
They disgusted me when they went for the gay route and the 3 some with the secret service guy. I think I’ll pass after seeing that.
I liked Season 3 because it shows what I think would happen when you go to the tippy top in power... There can only be discord among the people who rose with you from their own ambitions, and that Frank needs to find a legacy after the sheer power play he made to compensate psychologically (America Works). Many on here probably disagree with depicting deviant sexual behavior on TV, but I think the sexual scenes were mostly used to show the naked lust for power in the characters, a clearer depiction of the dynamic between them, and the extent of their depravity and spiritual death (Except for Russo and Christina, very few of them show the participants enjoying the act). This is quite different from the use of sex in other political shows.
Honestly, one of the few things I disliked about the show was the fact they took Ayla Sayyad’s press credentials (she was relentless, had potential, and IMO the most attractive character on the show)
I think I didn’t finish the last season so I probably have to go back and catch up, it’s well written and spacey is good. Still, there is no one to really like on that show. And there is a bit of a liberal bend of course. There is respect for the art of the show but also some nausea involved. It’s Obama’s favorite show, which does increase the nausea, if you think about it.
Better Call Saul is excellent. Excellent, excellent. Did I say excellent? An amazing show.
I watched the first season generally liked the actors. I really try using my leasure time to watch something entertaining. House of Cards and was depressing, no thanks
You know what, your right about it being depressing.
I’m working my way through season 2 and that’s the way I’m feeling. Maybe it’s because I’ve heard how dead on this show is on showing DC and that is so very very depressing. I’ve always known how disgusting politicians are but man...........
