With Donald Trump on the brink of the GOP nomination, America is hurtling toward a schism unlike anything since the 1960s.
What will happen to American politics if, as now appears likely, the Republican Party nominates Donald Trump? Here's one bet: It will get more violent.
The United States is headed toward a confrontation, the likes of which it has not seen since 1968, between leftist activists, who believe in physical disruption as a means of drawing attention to injustice, and a candidate eager to forcibly put down that disruption in order to make himself look tough. The new culture of physical disruption on the activist left stems partly from disillusionment with Barack Obama. In 2008, Obama's election sparked unprecedented excitement among young progressives. But that excitement was followed by deep disillusionment as it became clear that even a liberal black president could not remedy the structural injustices afflicting people of color....

Never take counsel of your fears

Uh-oh. This thread has a lot of zot potential..................
What does he mean "to come?"
I disagree with the premise and no wonder, look who’s writing it! The Atlantic.
Look up the Atlantic though at wikipedia, it started way back in the 1800s and the good thing is, they aren’t mother jones, media matters or any of that rubbish but it doesn’t mean they are good either.
Exactly, currently, the violence is here and will be until this admin GOES. With an R administration in, I think it would severely decline.
Fear mongering by the Atlantic.
Aint nothin a gun couldnt cure
That’s approved violence, the article is about the Kulaks fighting back, which is unapproved.
The question is whether it is better to resist or to acquiesce to those who threaten or commit violence.
To place any blame for the racial division Obama has been stirring up for the past 7 years on Trump just shows how deranged this writer is. I don’t know where Trump’s insight comes from but he knows more about what is happening down here in the real world that the other lawyer smuck politicians that were on the debate stage last night.
The violence has been happening for a long while. The Left is afraid that the time may come where we respond.
Funny thing is, no matter the GOP nominee, they will still riot and protest.... So at least we’ll have a fighter in the race.
.. it became clear that even a liberal black president could not remedy the structural injustices afflicting people of color...
It went into warp drive when that same President began his race baiting by saying the police acted stupidly.
“article is about the Kulaks fighting back, which is unapproved.”
Correct!
I actually don't think so.
Their fantasies about the real world, so prominent in economics and sociology, extend to violence as well. They have NO CONCEPT of what is going to happen when the shooting starts, and so they are actually looking forward to it.
They really, really want a fight. And, sad to say, they're going to get their wish.
That's because the structural "injustices" are a result of the black president's party. The black family has been officially "lynched" by welfare policy, it's culture obliterated by government dependency.
As long as whitey is deemed to be the culprit, there will be no fix for this.
Through violence, we will learn to be civil again.
Free Speech will be revered again, and the hippies will learn to embrace the second amendment
Buwahahaha

Who filibustered Obamacare?

Good thing he did, who knows how bad our healthcare would be if it passed...oh wait, it did pass.
I would not put that down on my resume if I was him.
