Following a poor performance on Super Tuesday, Ben Carson announced on Wednesday that he sees no “path forward” in the race for the Republican nomination and will not attend Thursday’s Fox News GOP debate in his hometown of Detroit.
“I do not see a political path forward in light of last evening’s Super Tuesday primary results,” Carson said in a statement. “However, this grassroots movement on behalf of ‘We the People’ will continue. Along with millions of patriots who have supported my campaign for president, I remain committed to Saving America for Future Generations. We must not depart from our goals to restore what God and our Founders intended for this exceptional nation.”
Carson said he will address his political future on Friday in a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington.

Many will stay home, a few others will spread between the remaining candidates with a slight favor to Kasich.

There is more in common philosophically between Cruz and Carson than Trump and Carson... One is a mild mannered Christian whom wants to see limited government, the other is a foul mouthed hothead whom has stated even during this campaign he wants to EXPAND government...
Given Carson’s past rhetoric, its not hard to see that his supporters could swing towards Cruz.

Will of the People is a movement that has shown support for both Carson and Cruz. From my personal observations it’s pretty obvious that Cruz is the fallback. Being a Cruz supporter has no effect on the facts.
Oh boy, no one better retweet this, or you’ll be accused of sabotaging the Carson Campaign, since he didn’t say he’s dropping out. Don’t want to speculate anything, ya know.

You might be unaware that Carson is kind of an iconic role model for home schoolers, who are almost by definition very, very socially conservative. Quite the opposite of Kasich.

A friend of mine voted for Ben last night in VA and said it was a toss up between Ted or Ben.. says she will not vote in the general if Trump is the nominee.

Yeah, especially the part of Carson’s rhetoric about hating lying politicians. I imagine all of Carson’s supporters will stampede to the career politician and former Bush admin official in the race after Carson made is so clear how little he thinks of politicians.
In reality, I think Carson’s supporters will divide pretty evenly between the front runner, the preacher and the cute cabana boy.

Awe, this makes me sad.

He’s a good man. Wish he could have presented himself with more upmph and energy. It’s obvious he has a great mind — he’s just lacking in kilowatts.

My first thought, based on how his announcement was written was he may be joining Chris Christy on the platform next to Trump.
Expecting Carson supporters to go to Cruz is delusional. Cruz is one of the primary reasons Carson is now suspending his campaign. It would be hilarious if we saw him on the trail with Trump. But I wouldn’t wish that on all the Cruz supporters whose heads would explode.
