Yes, member since 2003, reader since near the beginning. And friends with people you might know if you know anyone. By looking me up you hope to continue the personal attacks? Don’t worry, the not-welcome message was received loud and clear. You can keep your bubble pure. BTW, “amnesty” is something all of them have favored so your hatred is selective - and emotional, like a liberal! Helping leftists get elected, maybe it’s intentional...

Everyone who doesn’t agree with you is a “moron” (no rules violation there) so no discussion is worth your time. Why hang out, just to chase away any newcomers or outsiders that aren’t in lockstep?

Meanwhile, Jim tries to fundraise...

Amnesty equals more illegal aliens.
Trying to spin it in any way or fashion is dishonest at best.

You tease me into thinking an intelligent conversation is about to break out... Happy to discuss it further, but probably not in a dead thread where the original topic was name calling, “let’s call him Rubot”.

If you want, let me know where we might engage in this further where it might not digress into being called “moron”, “dick”, “troll” for having a different view on how we get out of the Obama mess, while not having my points genuinely addressed.

As for recapping what happened here line by line, it wasn’t good enough to earn a post game show.

“You tease me into thinking an intelligent conversation is about to break out... “

You toss out insults, claim that I insulted you and offer no proof, and cannot respond to anything I have said about Rubio and his amnesty pimpery.
Why is that?
Quote me on where I called you a moron or anything else.
Show the post.
Provide a link.
If you cannot, you are lying about me.

Come on everybody, repeat after me.....

Marco Rubio is a conservative
Marco Rubio is a conservative
Marco Rubio is a conservative
Marco Rubio is a conservative

Who needs facts? If we all just keep chanting, cross our fingers and pray real hard, it will become the truth!

https://www.conservativereview.com/members/marco-rubio/

The unmistakable gaping hole in Rubio’s conservative record is his active and prominent voice for amnesty and comprehensive open borders. When judging a member’s work in the broader conservative cause, dissension on one issue would not taint their entire record. But in the case of Rubio and immigration, due to the importance of the issue and the fact that he carried the amnesty bill on his shoulders, even after his own promises were proven wrong, has severely strained his relationship with the grassroots. Conservatives feel as if Rubio didn’t just work across the aisle, but delivered the votes needed across the aisle for liberal Senator Chuck Schumer and the open borders movement against the center-right rule- of- law coalition.

Aside for immigration, Rubio has a weak spot for some aspects of the populist fiscal agenda that are not inherently conservative. While his strong position against corporate welfare overlaps with the conservative agenda, parts of his anti-poverty agenda are not built upon the foundation of free market and limited government principles. He opposes the requisite downsizing of government in order to balance the budget. He supports keeping the costly Obamacare mandates on pre-existing conditions, and he has supported government intervention in hiring employees and incentivizing wage increases.

Anybody care to disprove any of this?

“Gentlemen, Thanks for the insults and condescension.”

Insults? Condescension?

I see people giving you links to relevant material supporting their rebuttals to your claim about Rubio’s stance on illegal immigration. There are those who hold that being confronted with facts is insulting or condescending, but they usually don’t post here at Free Republic, so you’re not elevating your image crying “foul” where there has been no foul.

You assert that Rubio “was 3rd most conservative member of the Senate before Ted Cruz got in”; would it be insulting of me to ask to see the source behind that assertion? I allow that Rubio is fairly conservative in many respects, but this amnesty business is a crippling weakness (I’d call it an Achilles’ Heel, but it’s too large a mark) that should doom his candidacy. His stance sets him at odds with 3/4 of America, and that makes him radioactive as regards his aspirations to the Oval Office. We can’t risk putting him in there only to hope he never gets around to immigration for four years.

Now, you claim he’s had some sort of epiphany on that issue; that he’s a changed man, and now opposes “amnesty.” Well, you’ve had ample opportunity to post any number of links to credible source material detailing your knowledge of Rubio’s personal Reformation on amnesty, and you’ve not availed yourself of that opportunity.

Can anyone be blamed for expecting, at this point, that you put up or shut up?

If you were to supply credible evidence that Marco Rubio is a vocal opponent of illegal immigration, and include a link, or three, to details of how he, as a greenhorn Freshman Senator, got rooked by the GOP Old Guard into supporting pro-amnesty legislation he personally didn’t believe in; at least you’d have made a beginning toward supporting your claim that he opposes amnesty. You’ve done nothing of the sort, however, yet you seem to expect everyone to accept your claim at face value, and it appears you’re offended that people aren’t buying it just because you’ve stated that it’s so.

“Wouldn’t it be weird if I wasn’t dumber, less informed or even less conservative than you, just had a different view of how to advance the cause?”

NOBODY said — directly or indirectly — that you were dumber or less informed, but nobody around here is going to accept your assertions without credible support. You elsewhere mourn being encouraged at the prospect of an intelligent debate, only to be disappointed. You must accept that the disappointment began with your failure to actually make a credible argument with adequate support. If you’re going to go about making claims, either give them some credible support, or don’t be surprised when they aren’t accepted.

I suppose, here, it is just too poetic an irony that your end quote stands so well-suited to my present purpose, and yet, thou hast said, “[Your] level of argument matches what I expect on a liberal board in a liberal bubble. Unfortunate to see it on our side.”

Good luck.

The source for 3rd most conservative Senator in 112th Congress was Heritage, also published in The Washington Post quoting heritage. You can pick it up also pretty easily through google.
http://heritageactionscorecard.com/scorecard/

Among the insults were moron, dick, liar and troll, unless you consider those descriptors. ) I’m not hurt just not very interested in continuing.

The first condescension was to point out the gang of eight as if I came out from under a rock to post here. I didn’t.

While you folks were ripping me, Trump and Kasich just took one and two in New Hampshire, both to the left of Rubio.

Amnesty, a word thrown around loosely (wrongly) here, has a specific meaning, dropping a charge with no penalty. That never was the proposal. To legalize some through a process is something that all of them have favored at one point or another. So there has been some other flip-flopping going on as well. But in the case of whoever is your guy, you believe him now. Okay.

Rubio has been off of comprehensive reform for quite a while now, promises to stop illegal immigration, at the borders, the visa overstays, employer verification, etc., just like Trump and Cruz. As stated to the other guy, if you don’t believe him, that’s your right. It doesn’t make me a liar.

Meanwhile the guy in first place believes in crony government performing private takings private takings, has the highest negatives and matches up the worst in the general election, meaning that on the current course either Hillary or Bernie will be President.

Cruz is great except he isn’t even trying to speak to anyone other than the base so far. He might make a great general election candidate. If he’s the nominee, I will happily vote for him, but in my opinion he was not the best bet to advance our cause at least at the time this thread began.

I answered the questions directed at me the best that I intend to. May I go now or will I still be accused of being afraid to discuss this?

By the way, nothing I posted was false and none of the personal attacks were deserved. If I am too far left or too uninformed, you have yourselves a small and narrow group.

By the way, none of the following is false, and you have no response to it:
Gang of Eight:
Sen. Michael Bennet, D-CO
Sen. Richard J. Durbin, D-IL
Sen. Jeff Flake, R-AZ
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC
Sen. John McCain, R-AZ
Sen. Bob Menendez, D-NJ
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY

What they did:

And even last year Marco Ruboto was still pushing it:
