That’s because you’re willfully ignorant and trying to maintain an old narrative. The same narrative that Rush and Hannity are still pimping. Even after Trump has said he’s going to make deals with Pelosi and Schumer and wants to go establishment. Even after several establishment R’s have essentially endorsed him. All so you can get a perverted, foul-mouthed reprobate into the WH.

Conservatives realized your guy is a fraud.

But that’s okay. New York Values are on the ballot next week and moderates like Trump will probably fare better.

And, looking back on it from a post-Iowa perspective, Trump not being at the debate opened the door for Rubio. Now I’m wondering if Fox News intentionally goaded Trump (via Twitter) to get him out of the debate.

You made up a headline for an unrelated NYT article to continue to push your utterly delusional theory?! That sort of intentionally dishonest behavior can lead to your dismissal from this forum, though that’s not my call.

-----

I posted this under blogs and personal and I used an editorial to show where my idea comes from. So actually you should be dismissed for bearing false witness. This was not posted under news at all.

On the surface, it looks plausible. Rubio was the surprise winner, so to speak. If Trump has success, and garners the most delegates, with Rubio second or third in delegates, the ticket becomes obvious.
Although Cruz defeated Trump soundly in Iowa, he effectively lost to Rubio.

ven after Trump has said he’s going to make deals with Pelosi and Schumer and wants to go establishment.

-----------

So how do you govern of you don't have a majority? ---- Honestly, your comment makes zero sense. If Trump wins and brings in a GOP landslide that takes the Senate and Congress for the GOP then no deals will need be done.

Exactly right. A Trump win in Iowa would have devastated Cruz’s campaign and set Trump up as the inevitable candidate, which is the worst-case scenario for the GOPe. Now both Cruz and GOPe live to fight Trump another day, but bear in mind that Iowa represents < 1% of the national vote and the caucus-goes a fraction of that.

Congrats to Cruz on the win, but everyone knows it doesn’t mean much, just ask Mike Huckabee who has been there, done that, just 8 sort years ago and now can’t even sustain his candidacy. How quickly political fortunes change!

And by the way, Iowa Evangelicals...if Huck was you man 8 years ago, what’s he done to fall from grace since then? I find Huckabee’s performance in Iowa far more puzzling than Rubios, who is clearly playing the establishement GOP game.

Yea, Trump is a KGB agent I am sure.

He's either in cahoots with your boy KGB/FSB Putin, or he is dangerously naive and/or at least somewhat nuts.

Especially after the MSM’s rubio gush fest last night.

Based on last night's results, I really don't see this as some type of bias. IMO, the biggest stories of last night's caucuses were:

1. Rubio's surge and close third place finish.

2. The virtual tie on the Democrat side.

3. Trump's disappointing performance.

4. Cruz' solid win.

Number 4 wasn't a big surprise given the voter demographics in Iowa. Number 3 isn't a huge story because this is only round 1 of a long process and the primaries move to friendlier Trump territory. Trump is hardly eliminated. Number 2 would have been the story if Sanders would have eked out the win.

Was there anyone out there who predicted that Rubio would finish that close to Trump? Some indicators apparently were moving Rubio's way but I don't think that anyone saw the magnitude which made it the story.

Six months from now, last night's big story might be nothing more than an interesting historical artifact.

That isnt anything to laugh at. Take a look at the media. Do you see the media singing Cruz’s name to the heavens or Rubio’s? NH is to put Rubio in a strong 2nd behind Trump. SC is to have the state’s GOPe (Tim Scott just endorsed Rubio) put the rubber stamp on him. NV is for him to do well for credibility, and Florida is to give him the take-off.

yep, and I'm not liking it.

How Russia arms America's southern neighbors

Ioan Grillo
May 9, 2014

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Russia's push into Ukraine has put many on edge. But less known is that Russia is also strengthening its military links south of the Rio Grande and re-establishing itself as a power in the region.

Vladimir Putin has been strengthening military links here, and Russia is now the largest arms dealer to governments in Latin America, surpassing the United States.

Russia has even floated the possibility of building new military bases in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and putting its warships permanently in the Caribbean.

In the midst of the Ukraine crisis, Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov recently visited Cuba, Peru, Chile, and Nicaragua, where he announced that Russia would also pour money into the new Central American canal project. ..."

Russia Boosts Arms, Training for Leftist Latin Militaries

Moscow defense minister inks deals with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua for joint exercises

BY: Bill Gertz
February 20, 2015

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.

Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.

Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

"Trump's relationship with Russia goes far back. In 1987, before the collapse of the Soviet Union, he was meeting with Soviet officials and negotiating the building of "luxury hotels" in Moscow and Leningrad .

A story at the time said Trump had met Soviet Ambassador Yuri Dubinin, who mentioned how much his daughter had admired the "opulent" Trump Tower in New York City. This led to an invitation to Trump to visit the USSR. The story said Dubinin wrote a letter to Trump, who hosted a meeting with Soviet officials in New York.

The invitation to Moscow was issued by Intourist, the giant Soviet in-country travel organization which operated all the hotels for foreigners in the Soviet Union.

Intourist was created in 1929 by Joseph Stalin and run by KGB officials. Intourist hotels were designed for wealthy foreigners, and virtually all the Intourist guides were KGB informers. In fact, one aspect of their jobs was the recruitment of foreigners. ..."

"...we are left thinking [whether] Trump understands the aggressive intentions of Vladimir Putin.

"...when Trump was asked about the nuclear balance with Russia during the most recent Republican presidential debate, he displayed ignorance of the decaying nature of the U.S. nuclear triad, which constitutes our ability to deter and survive a Russian nuclear first strike.

"Putin has just presided over a ceremony honoring the KGB's successor agencies, and the Russia Today (RT) propaganda channel has announced the grand opening of a "cultural center" dedicated to mass murderer Joseph Stalin.

It looks like Putin has outmaneuvered Obama and Trump. It is an opening for Trump's opponents, especially Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL). But do they have the courage to "follow the money" and hold Trump accountable for doing business with a criminal regime that threatens the survival of the United States? At the end of this money trail, they may find an explanation of why Trump is so reluctant to hold Putin responsible for his crimes.
