Dictators don’t make deals.
The Art of the Deal. The alternative is total gridlock.
Is Cruz trying to pretend he didn’t make deals?
Absolutely fantastic ad.
Trump cannot be trusted, he WILL sell us out...
Making deals with the elites is not selling out!
What difference, at this point, does it make?
Each side has its case to make and its sad to realize how deeply this country is in trouble because of our Uniparty big government-big business-big bank conglomeration.
95 percent of Republicans are not conservative and the actions of those who grassroots people support like Trump and Cruz have been called to question in the attack ads.
236 House Republicans supported Paul Ryan for Speaker and none of them deserve re-election. Ryan is leading the nation into deeper debt like a credit card holder forcing even larger payments to maintain the larger debt.
Ryan’s policies will lead to higher taxes and or spending cuts to feed the larger debt payments.
Watch out taxpayers in 2017.....
A caller on Breitbart Radio this morning said something poignant and dead on...
The Constitution itself became what it is because of deal-making. All of the writers had their own agenda and wanted everything they wanted in it, which would have been a disaster.
Like any good deal or negotiation, there had to be some give and take on both sides to come to an agreement on what is best for the country. If not, there would have been NO progress made, and we would have been in infinite gridlock.
I am confident in Trump’s dealmaking. Will he give SOME concessions to Dems, sure. But I know he is thinking three steps ahead of them, and whatever he would “give” them would not compare to the positive concessions he would gain.
Proposing a 500% increasing h-1b’s wasn’t a deal? A bad deal at that.
Cruz did a great job pushing the TPA deal. Cruz should take some of his Goldman Sachs money and buy Art of the Deal.
It’s amazing that Trump has had such a powerful, deal-making political history, considering he never held political office.
But I suppose actually caving in to libs with TPP, Corker Bill, etc... are things we should ignore. After all, Donald Trump doesn’t pray loudly or frequently enough. :/
Teddy Bears to illegal aliens with Glenn beck= Cruz
Mic drop
Actually, compromise was the foundation of Reagan’s presidency. We need someone who can negotiate deals that give us most of what we want.
None of the existing candidates FR President seem to understand this. Nor do most of the rabid followers of the here on FR.
The only dealing opportunities for Snooze will be at the weekly poker game.
He can’t win the general election.
Donald Trump persuaded by Laredo mayor to temper border wall plan
From the article:
In the middle of Saturday’s Texas Tribune Festival panel on the border and the Legislature, state Rep. César Blanco, an El Paso Democrat, asked two of his Republicans colleagues if there was something they could do to keep Donald Trump from exploiting the border for his own political benefit.
“Do you think any of us can control Donald Trump?” replied state Rep. Larry Phillips, the Sherman Republican who chairs the House Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee. Perhaps not.
But the panel of border mayors that followed included Pete Saenz of Laredo, who hosted Trump on his whirlwind border inspection tour in July, and may have actually persuaded Trump to slightly moderate his plans for a great wall between Mexico and the United States.
As Saenz told the American-Statesman after the panel discussion, he was obligated to be a “gracious” host to Trump but also obliged during his border briefing for Trump to explain why the Republican presidential front-runner’s plans for a wall and mass deportations were ill-advised.
“I told him it was not practical,” Saenz said of the wall. “I told him aside from it being offensive to Mexico, which is our second- or third-largest trading partner, the cost is impractical, and it’s not practical inside Texas, where the Rio Grande sometimes throughout the year is a source of drinking water for livestock.”
“We’re a ranching community,” Saenz said. “What are you going to do — dam the tributaries?
“He did change his tone a little bit,” Saenz said. “He did say maybe the wall is not appropriate for the entire border and certain sections are not conducive for that.”
-snip-
Rep. Poncho Nevarez, D-Eagle Pass, who represents the largest border district, said: “Borders are always going to be porous — that’s what borders are. The idea of sealing the border, it’s not going to happen.
“What I object to is being a political piñata,” he said.

QUESTION: Are you still in favor of a wall?
Donald J. Trump: Yes, in certain sections, you have to have a wall, absolutely.

At the federal level:
Deal making for the last 20 years: Giving Democrats what they demand.
Obstruction for the last 20 years: Failing to give Democrats what they demand.
So since our party seems to be focused on not giving away TOO much to Democrats in every battle, I’m going to think that it is time to switch horses, not double down on the same options and expect a different outcome.
I didn’t know he was President yet nor a member of CON-gress?
