President Barack Obama told members of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in a speech at the White House on Thursday that "government generally is something" we have to "fight for."

"Unlike, sometimes, government officials at other levels, mayors understand that the services and the effectiveness of local government and government generally is something that we can't take for granted, that we have to work for and fight for and invest in every single day," Obama said.

"Mayors can't wait for Congress," Obama said in the speech. "Mayors can't get stuck in partisan gridlock." ...

He does think everything ought to be consolidated in DC, and particularly the White House, does he not.

If the stock market crashes like a lot of people predict, then watch Barry squirm and dance.
Trillions more debt, slow growth, the middle class dying-we’re worse off than 2008.

The ideology he subscribes to is not about wealth creation. It literally is about the creation of misery.

Shut up Barry. You’ve got less than a year left. How about giving America a break and go join a miniature golf tournament tour for a year or something. Americans need a break from all of your Marxist bull****.

Funny, a historic storm ws just bout to hit DC, and much of the NorthEast, and where is he? Is he working? Was he working yesterday, helping the nation to prepare? For someone who loves government, he sure doesn’t like to work in it.

“We have to ‘fight for’ government”??

Who the hell does he think he’s kidding? They are licensed thieves who can steal your money for their precious pet government any time they feel like it. And when your taxes aren’t enough, they either borrow and inflate so the pittance you are left with is worth very little in 20 years.

The real ‘fight’ is to control the voracious government beast that “sends hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out our substance.”

the services and the effectiveness of local government and government generally is something that we can't take for granted, that we have to work for and fight for and invest in every single day.

The sacrifice of one's values for the sake of government is altruism and statism and is anti-life. Once it becomes a virtue to voluntarily sacrifice for government, the next step is the use of force to compel sacrifice.

When it comes to him, “government” is merely a synonym for the first person. Just think of what he said in light of that.

He and they will create a fictitious legacy of lies and promote it, he has done nothing in 8 years but rob the American tax payer and attempt to destroy its foundations
