Trump, really?
Coach is Right ^ | 1/19/16 | John C. Velisek USN (Ret.)

Yes Trump, really. The brash, self-promoting candidate has captured the imagination and the support of Americans across the nation. It’s no secret that the GOP Establishment (GOPe) has made him feel unwelcome; that they consider his advocates low information and uneducated. And it’s hardly a surprise that Karl Rove should wish to preside over the candidate’s downfall. After all, Donald is someone whose thoughts and actions he can’t control. The fact is neither of our political parties have much use for either “loose cannons” or patriots. Both, it seems, are unmanageable.

According to POLITICO, I am an average Trump supporter; that is, a middle income, blue collar worker. But what Trump is saying has resonated with far more than just blue collar voters. Independents, higher income Republicans and Democrats, even 25% of minority voters favor Trump over any of the DC, “Uniparty” candidates. His words are resonating with those who see our country going down a hole, who will no longer tolerate the effects of political correctness and kowtowing to the members of every self-proclaimed “victim” class.

Trump followers represent a large swath of the electorate. Democrats are losing the non-college voters in the Midwest. More importantly they have lost the Reagan Democrats who foolishly gave Barack Hussein a chance to make things better. These voters no longer maintain any illusions about “Hope and Change” and no longer trust the far left to handle the economy, immigration or terrorists.

The citizens of this country are looking for a strong leader who understands the damage caused by decades of liberal rule. Americans are fed up with political corruption and legislation which violates the rights guaranteed in the Constitution. Most of us don’t react well to force, whether it be purchase ObamaCare or pay a penalty, or submit to the homosexual agenda...

When the GOPe has fully embraced Trump, will anyone still be around to look back at the irony of all of this?

...and which political candidate has ever not been “self-promoting”?

These people. Seem a bit hypocritical to me.

The GOPe will never full embrace Trump. They would rather lose than see him be the nominee or be elected. You only have to look at the last Governor’s race in VA to understand how they operate.

So Cruz isn’t “self-promoting”?

The governor’s race had a conservative in it (interesting that Trump donated to the conservative’s opponent). That’s why they pulled the rug out from under him. Trump buys and can be bought. The GOPe will be perfectly happy with him. Priebus, McConnell, McCain, et al fell all over themselves to declare Obama as eligible to be president: Silence on Cruz. Rubio is attacking Cruz and not Trump. Christie is attacking Cruz and not Trump. Paul, Huck, etc. We’re being played.

You might ask the same about Ted because the GOPe has been nicer to him than they have to Trump

As some of us have commented before, the coming RE-ACTION to the ongoing muzzie INVASION of the West could easily push the events in Nazi Germany into the back pages of future history books. Bill Whittle explains all of that — AND WHY TRUMP IS EN FUEGO — in this excellent and riveting 9 minute video.

Yes, Ken Cuccinelli was the conservative. I actively worked helping get him the nomination as a delegate at the convention. We fought for a convention rather than a primary.

I was totally unaware of Trump's involvement in the primary or general election in VA. Exactly who did Trump donate to? Bolling? McAuliffe? Do have a source for that assertion?

We're being played.

LOL. If you think the GOPe is supporting Trump, you are delusional. I don't know who they hate worse, Trump or Cruz, but they will do anything to take both of them down. They would rather lose than have either one of them win.

I think you're right, it's likely true about Cruz as well.

Of the two, the one who seems capable of being elected against that kind of headwind is Trump.

I like them both for very different reasons.

Trump donated 25,000 to Terry McAuliffe in his failed run during the 2009 primary. He was able to use that money to defeat Cuccinelli.

Thanks for the link. I wasn’t aware of who was contributing to whom in the 2009 Dem primary. It is a bit of stretch to say that McAuliffe then used the Trump 25K in the 2009 General election to defeat Cuccinelli. Did Trump donate to McAuliffe in 2013?

Why stop at 2009? Go back even further. Trump gave money to Hillary’s senate campaign. When she runs possibly against Trump for President, then you can say Trump helped fund the postilion against him.
