Now that the first unvetted refugees are “home” with thousands more being flown in by the end of February, it may be more auspicious to offer those you care about a “Safe 2016” rather than the traditional “Happy New Year” this holiday season

A New Orleans resident, whose husband was allegedly ordered by police to delete photos he had taken of Syrian “refugees”, sent out an email yesterday,asking: “Is anyone in Canada experiencing the same thing?”

The answer is “No, not in Canada”, where mostly politicians and government employees showed up to welcome the first planeload of refugee arrivals last Friday—and they already grabbed the picture they wanted the world to see.

Aside from the politicians and their employees, only a handful of average Canadians gathered at the international gate at Pearson, bearing signs and gifts.

I suspect there are a lot more people carrying protection now without permits than before Paris and San Berdoo. Many folks just don’t want to be on a first use confiscation list. Most are on other lists if they bought their guns legally or casually mentioned them in earshot of a nosy neighbor but one can speculate that that CCW list will be first for a force that has limited manpower to go after weapons. Get the ones who carry first. Someone who finds himself in a target situation with a jihadi doing the targeting just might choose to out himself as an illicit carrier rather than take a bullet unopposed.
