Nobody argues against the fact that there needs to be diversity at the top of large companies, but the Left is pushing for over-representation of minorities, and they make no bones about it.
Sam's Club CEO Rosalind Brewer told CNN how she deals with the white patriarchy. âJust today we met with a supplier and the entire other side of the table was all Caucasian males.â She went on to say how âthere were actually no females, like, levels downâ in the company. She vowed to âplace a callâ to the CEO.
Brewer said that it has to start at the top, adding that she âhas to live it.â The hypocrisy starts at the top, too, beginning with CNNâs own graphic showing Samâs Clubâs executive team. According to the graphic, three of eight are white males, but thatâs a gerrymandered figure.  Walmartâs corporate website (Samâs Club being a division) paints with a different colorâand genderâpalette.
Shall we say four out of five of the top executives are white males? Shall we say that 20 out of 32 of the next level of top executives (including the CEO of Samsclub.com, the online arm of Samâs Club) are white males?
How about this statistic? 63 percent of Walmartâs top executives are white males. Add in females and it jumps to 88 percent. These numbers are hardly representative of U.S. demographics. What kinds of jobs are open âlike, levels downâ at Walmart for women and minorities? Although the company touts its efforts to improve minority promotions (mostly by filling slots on an affirmative-action model), 72 percent of Walmart cashiers are women.
According to the United Food and Commercial Workers union and the radical BLM movement, Walmartâs âprogressâ in race relations is laughable. They say the company is the largest single employer of African-Americans in the U.S. (aside from the military). Theâve got this list of grievances (among others):
This is one area Iâd probably agree with on the Left.
Brewer gets on CNN and crows about how she lives her commitment to diversity. I think most of the Left would see her for what she is: A token. She undoubtedly worked hard to gain her position, but to spew such platitudes about white males in the business world while working for a lily-white-founded, lily-white-run company in the cutthroat backstabbing world of retail is the height of hypocrisy.
A change like this is going to take decades.
Most CEOs have been in the workforce 25-30 years. They put their time in, and they understand the business. They have the trust of the BOD and the senior staff.
Look at middle to upper management, and you will start to see the inclusion of women and minorities. In another ten years, those people hired as college grads in the ‘90s will start to occupy the board room seats.
It is not institutional racism. It is economic survival.
I have no idea who runs my vendors whether they are black white male or female. I use them because they work. If they stop working, I’ll use someone else.
But then again, I am not a liberal, obsessed with race and gender.
If women are all like her they’ll get nowhere , who wants to talk to someone always their time of the month
Stopped right there.
Companies need the best and brightest at all levels - gender, color, beliefs and anything else are irrelevant and should never be a criteria for hiring / advancement.
Why work when you get paid to vote once every 2 or 4 years?
> Nobody argues against the fact that there needs to be diversity at the top of large companies
Really? Maybe among racists. All I care about is a person’s capabilities, their skin tone is not a factor.
I do. Why do we need 'diversity'?
but the Left is pushing for over-representation of minorities, and they make no bones about it.
Of course they are. They are out to destroy White Western Culture. It should be obvious except to all but the most oblivious. It never has been about 'equality'.
I do. Diversity is irrelevant when it comes to finding good corporate leadership. Entirely irrelevant. Completely. Utterly. Diversity should play *no* roll, none, in selecting leadership. Anyone, a-n-y-o-n-e, who thinks diversity needs to play a roll doesn't understand the function of business.
Typical black female with a chip on her shoulder?
My name is Nobody and I really don't care.
Diversity isn't a focus nor an issue near and dear other than the biodiversity of weeds in my yard and garden.
In life, both in business and in pleasure, I believe in merit-based freedom of association.
And, just looking at the world around me, I see that so does almost everyone else.
I guess that means we're all just a bunch of 'Nobody's to the purveyors of diversity, which explains the condescending attitude so common with post-pubescent arrested development.
Rosalind Brewer should write a book wherein she describes her journey to the top and distribute it throughout her corporation so everyone can learn how to be successful. Surely she would be proud to share with her underlings how she managed to climb the corporate ladder.
Its crap like hers that made Rhodesia and South Africa what they are today. The majority needs to rule.
“Nobody argues against the fact that there needs to be diversity at the top of large companies, “
I do!
Diversity means hiring less than the best just to be diverse.
It is a means for the stupid and incompetent to be artificially at the top.
Hire the best person for the job and quit whining about diversity.
Instead of all this diversity bs, she should do away with charging customers to shop there. Raise the price one cent on every item and they’ll more than recoup the price of membership as they’ll have more customers. I flat out refuse to shop there because I’m not about to pay someone for the privilege of walking in the front door. I don’t need to be part of the “club”. Hey, Rosie, you’re promoting discrimination.
*Nobody argues against the fact that there needs to be diversity at the top of large companies...*
Nonsense! Crap like this just makes me want to be a white male advocate that much more. We need MORE white males running things, hahaha
