I’m looking through the responses here and I am amazed at how thick some of them are. A common hand gesture can’t POSSIBLY mean something different to Muslims.

You know the Ichthys sign was used by Christians to identify themselves to one another, to speak without speaking by drawing in the sand, 2000 years ago. The whole point of a secret sign is it’s a SECRET.

The thing I’m observing is that the finger gesture is straight up. Some other posters have explained it that it’s the hand sign for the Shahada. That makes sense since Obama was raised as a Muslim during his time in Indonesia.

It’s not the same thing. See it not in pictures but in video and you’ll see there’s a quality to how they do this that Obama has in common with the jihadi guys we keep seeing on TV.
Hi, MeganC! Yes, even American Thinker is on to this gesture. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It may be meaningless but we’ve been fooled before. I don’t think it is meaningless. That it is a universal gesture among ordinary people does not mean it is insignificant to either islamists or obama.
