Trump/Carson/Cruz.
Rafael Cruz has spent a surprising amount of time here in Michigan as well.
Agreed. Rubio is IMO the dumbest one out of the whole bunch. The only reason he’s still in is because Bush’s backers desperately want somewhere to go. Christie is tanking, Walker and Perry are already out, Romney said no thanks, and they don’t like Cruz.
I had to look up this “Jefferson Sherman” guy the article mentions, I didn’t even know he was running.
Now I’m tempted to start some pro-Sherman threads just for fun :)
Are you kidding? Cruz will slay Hillary.
Trump will be the next POTUS. Bank (no pun intended) on it.
Not if Cruz/Trump can settle on whose whose VP /s
Still, I get NO idea why our FRiends care whom has the seat; it’s not as if the Prez should have ANY authority anyway. Hell, it’s not like any living Prez has sat down to hammer out a treaty themselves...they only SIGN the end product (and take the spotlight). Bully pulpit, they would BOTH be good. Else, just a figurehead.
Yeah, yeah, when we were a Republic.....
If they want a balanced debate pltform, put Christie and the Huckster on one side and the rest on the other side.
It’s not any kind of a compliment to Cruz to say, “Cruz has the gravitas and intellect of a Jeb Bush, without ...........”
“Are you kidding? Cruz will slay Hillary.”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I like Cruz and would love to see him more than anyone else as President.
Cruz may score some intellectual points against Hillary. But her backers won’t care, the media won’t care, and Cruz doesn’t have the charisma to sway enough people from the middle.
The court of public opinion is an entirely different animal than a court of law. And voters vote based on opinion, not on facts.
IMHO, Cruz could never beat Hillary. He would wage an honest, spirited, hard fought campaign, and lose by similar margins as McCain and Romney.
Is there a Jeb Bush about whom I am unaware? No one would ever accuse Jeb of being smart.
Carson has imploded today, Cruz is un-electable outside of Texas so you are left with only one guy that can win.
Donald Trump.
He might be, as W might say, “book smart and sidewalk stupid.” He comes across to me as being sidewalk stupid, although I don’t have any real reason to see him as book smart.
Believe it or not George Will was the first to predict this, followed by Krauthammer then Steve Hayes.
I’ve believed ever since the last debate that this was the most likely scenario.
I think this is the most likely scenario. Cruz, I support whole-heartedly. Rubio, I have questions about.
TPA, TPP, and H1B will sink Cruz, especially since the release of the whole TPP deal the Cruz voted FOR. Doesn’t matter how or why, he owns it now, seeing as how he is a member of the thoroughly corrupted congress that allowed this atrocity that was rammed this through.
Let’s hope this topples Carson’s support, he’s blocking Cruz from taking the top spot.
I don’t particularly like Rubio, but I can see him as Cruz’s VP. It would be like Bush Sr. being Reagan’s VP. He can go to funerals and preside over the Senate. Other than that, there is nothing for him to do.
“Cruz has the gravitas and intellect of a Jeb Bush...”
Don’t insult Ted with that comparison!
