Unless you are running Windows 8.0, you should upgrade to IE 11.

Windows 8.0 only has IE 10, you have to upgrade to Windows 8.1 to get IE 11.

11 is good, when it does not function I use Safari.

uninstall windows update (KB3035583). Then HIDE UPDATE so it don’t come back in.

This will remove the win10 push.

I would suggest Firefox only because of the Adblocker ad on. I use Fire fox and on occasion IE 11 on Windows 10.

Due to the vagaries of how different sites code their pages, I have IE, Firefox *AND* Chrome installed. Some sites prefer one over the others. Chrome is my browser of choice, Firefox second and a *distant* third would be IE.

But hey! Microsoft IE is the number one browser for downloading a different browser...

It all depends on what you are comfortable with.

I have been using Mozilla (FireFox) since Mozilla 1.0 for UNIX.

I like the add-ons available to block ads, tracking, pop-ups, etc.
