Marco Rubioâs rise in the Republican primary polls might not even last the proverbial â15 minutes.â
Rubio is the personification of two major evils in the eyes of Republican primary voters. They see him as synonymous with amnesty and part of the Republican establishment that has betrayed their trust. He is the Republican establishmentâs âGreat Brown Hope,â a mantle that comes from the GOPeâs foolish and demonstrably false insistence that Republicans must pander to Hispanics with amnesty in order to win. This puts Rubio and the GOPe squarely on the wrong side of the issue.
Rubio is a perfect example of a Republican betrayer; and his GOPe support proves how tone deaf they are. He was no sooner in Washington, as a newly elected Senator from Florida, when he turned on those who elected him and backed amnesty, something that has not been forgotten by primary voters who are always the most engaged in either Party.
This puts Rubio in a class by himself in that he is on the wrong side of two major issues driving the Republican primary process: He has a scarlet âAâ for amnesty supporter burned into his forehead and he is a prime example of Republicans who used the TEA party sentiment to get elected then betrayed those who worked so hard to put him in office.
Itâs worth noting that in the early days of the 2010 Florida Republican primary race Rubio was down FORTY FIVE points to Charlie Crist. This means lots of hard work from...

He’s a white hispanic.
GOPe’s hope for this week anyway.....
Rubio sunk his candidacy yesterday with some help from the rodent-like Jorge Ramos.
The RNC/GOP is obligated to nominate an amnesty candidate that The Cheap Labor Express has already paid them for.
Young Yeb! is being pumped up because Yeb! has revealed what a weirdo he is and turned off too many voters.
Perfect for the GOP-e, then.
Why can’t people get it through their heads that voting for someone because of their race, sex or religion is a mistake?
I held my nose and voted for RINOmney in ‘12.
Not any more.
Not voting for president at all is the only anser to RINObio.
You can write in.
That’s what I did this morning at our municipal election.
The precinct lady said, “We’ve never had a write-in before.”
I said, “Maybe you had better candidates.”
If it comes down to Rubio vs. Hillary I think I will write in Trump.
No pro-amnesty candidate is ever getting my vote.
I’ll leave my ballot blank first.
More like a great Nope.
Sounds reasonable.
I did two write-ins (mayor and city council district), and two (at-large city council) who were on the ballot.
MARCO RUBIO ON IMMIGRATION
The major flaw in Senator Rubio’s otherwise conservative record is his liberal position on immigration. Rubio has staked claim to many different positions on immigration over the years, but his leading support for amnesty is unambiguous. As a Florida state legislator, he supported allowing undocumented students to qualify for in-state tuition. During his 2010 race for the U.S. Senate, Rubio advocated for self-deportation.
In 2013, Rubio was one of the members of the Gang of Eight which authored an immigration reform bill that included amnesty. Since 2013, Rubio has changed his tune yet again, walking back his support for comprehensive reform in exchange for a piecemeal approach predicated on increasing border security. He has also called for granting students who are children of illegal immigrants nonimmigrant visas, allowing them to live here legally while they work to obtain their green cards (his compromise DREAM Act).
Along the same lines, Rubio has stated he would maintain at least a portion of President Obamaâs executive amnesty, DACA, if elected, even while the border is not secured.
During his time as a Florida state legislator, Rubio supported legislation that would allow undocumented students to qualify for in-state tuition. He also opposed several Republican attempts to crack down on undocumented immigrants. (Time Magazine)
While running for the U.S. Senate in 2009, Rubio reinforced the importance of enforcing our immigration laws and emphasized his commitment to opposing amnesty. Rubio stated:
I never have and never will support any effort to grant blanket legalization amnesty to folks that have stayed in this country illegally.(Power Line Blog)
In a 2010 debate, Rubio seemed to support self-deportation, saying:
You will have people in this country that are without documents that will be able to return to the — will be able to leave this country, return to their home land, and try to re-enter through our system that now functions, a system that makes sense. (CNN)
In 2010, Rubio criticized Governor Charlie Crist (R-FL) for claiming that amnesty for illegal immigrants would save Social Security. Rubio countered with research showing that amnesty would increase Social Security spending by $350 million and Medicare spending by $290 million. (Rubio Facebook).
Rubio has called for a compromise on the DREAM Act. Rubio proposal would grant young illegals a nonimmigrant visa that would let them live in the country legally while they work, pay taxes, and seek green cards. (The New York Times)
Rubio sent a letter to President Obama expressing concern over the Presidentâs intention to issue an executive order to slow deportations of illegal immigrants. (Rubio.Senate.gov)
In his book, American Dreams, Rubio writes about his attempt to pass the Gang of 8 bill and illegal immigrants already here, saying:
On the one hand, calls to grant amnesty to twelve million people are unrealistic and quite frankly irresponsible.
In the book, Rubio also takes the position that immigration reform needs to be accomplished piecemeal. (American Dreams)
Rubio supports E-Verify legislation to require employers to use the system to check the immigration status of job applicants. (Rubio.Senate.gov)
However, Rubioâs Gang of Eight immigration bill would create a multi-year gap in the statutory requirement for an E-Verify program. (Daily Caller)
Rubio has said that, while he disagreed with President Obamaâs 2012 executive order protecting young immigrants brought to America illegally by their parents, he doesnât think it fair to deport them at this point. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
Rubio rhetorically opposed the 2015 effort to block President Obamaâs unilateral action on deporting illegal immigrants, arguing that Congress needed to pass a clean DHS funding bill. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
However, Rubio ultimately voted against funding President Obamaâs unilateral action on amnesty for illegal immigrants. (Senate.gov)
Rubio introduced legislation that would require immigrants to provide valid immigration documentation before claiming child tax credits. (Govtrack)
Rubio was a member of the Gang of Eight that drafted immigration reform legislation that passed the Senate in 2013. As one of the sponsors of the bill, Rubio voted in favor of the legislation and actively lobbied his Senate colleagues to do the same. (Senate.gov).
During the debate on the Gang of Eight bill, Rubio voted against several amendments designed to improve the bill, including:
An amendment that would require the border is secure before any amnesty is granted. (Senate.gov)
)
An amendment that would require the completion of a reinforced double-layered border fence. (Senate.gov)
An amendment implementing a visa tracking system before any amnesty is granted. (Senate.gov)
An amendmeing requiring a congresional vote affirming the border has been secured before granting temporary legal status. (Senate.gov)
Rubio voted in favor of advancing legislation giving President Obama $2.7 billion more to help process the surge of illegal immigrants in 2014, instead of mandating deportations and holding him accountable for amnesty. (Senate.gov)
Rubio has stated he supports part of President Obamaâs executive amnesty (DACA) and would maintain it, even before the border was secured. (Breitbart)
Rubio opposed the key procedural mechanism used to advance Loretta Lynchâs nomination to passage (Senate.gov)
Regarding the push to close the birthright citizenship loophole, Rubio said:
I donât agree with that. Iâm open to doing things that prevent people who deliberately come to the U.S. for purposes of taking advantage of the 14th Amendment, but Iâm not in favor of repealing it. (Bloomberg)
Marco Rubio said that,
I would be open to (more Syrian refugees) if it can done in a way that allows us to ensure that among them are not infiltrated â people who were, you know, part of a terrorist organization that are using this crisis.
The U.S. already admits tens of thousands of refugees from predominately Muslim Countries, a significant percentage of which become radicalized once they arrive in the United States. (Buzz Feed)
At the second GOP debate, Rubio proposed ending the current warped incentives of chain migration. Rubio said:
Step two would be to modernize our legal immigration system so you come to America on the basis of what you can contribute economically, not whether or not simply you have a relative living here.(TIME)

You know......if you really think about it, the truth is that all of the so-called Republican candidates will, if ever elected, preside over some type of amnesty. Amnesty is destiny and it will happen regardless who takes the White Hut.
Unrestrained immigration and perpetually Open borders are inevitable. With TPP, its assured. And there’s other initiatives out there that will have the same effect.
The US as safe harbor, homeland, for any one ethnic group is over. See: http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/11/02/african-immigrant-population-in-u-s-steadily-climbs/
Fighting amnesty and the open borders problems is pointless if for no other reason than the fact that the Republican establishment has been pulled left of center while the Democrats have been pulled left of Liberal.
So, the thing to think about and the place to put resources is in the field of “ideas”; ideology, preserving the Constitution, etc. That’s going to be the battle field of the future.
One JFK was too much.
Rubio as President? Really?? He’s the flavor of the week by the GOPe...Carson was before the debate, Carly before that, RUBIO????
Oh man the koolaid from ‘sewer city’ is getting into the water....
He might be a good match for Hillary. Neither one of them have a single accomplishment to their names (If you don't count Hillary's "Death List").
I will not vote for Rubio under any circumstance. If him and Hillary are the best this country can offer as President, then let the country drown in a cesspool. Civil War would be the only fixable option.
