Funny...under NO conditions do we approve of this RINO POS.
The GOP keeps inching closer to extinction.

He was such a clown on the Mitt ticket.

All the man has ever done is have a five minute videoed rant on Obamacare funding in front of Obama. It put the weasel on the map. Other than that, he’s done nothing but be a RINO weasel clown show.

One of out local talk show hosts (Charley Sykes WTMJ) here in WI is busy defending him citing everything, but his votes on a number of issues, which is the real reason why he has opposition to that post.

Well I’ll tell you want I have done, and how it’s turned out....I called Jason Chaffetz and left a message that I don’t want Ryan, and I am very upset that he removed himself as speaker, that I would not encourage anyone to re-elect him.....haven’t heard back, which I didn’t expect to...

I also called Mia Love, and left the same message, and now answer back...even left my email address for them to contact me....nothing...

So when you go to the polls to vote and you have tried to talk to your Representatives or Senators and they don’t respond to you, then when they come around for your vote, tell them NO...and elect the new kid on the block...we are not getting anywhere with this group, so get rid of them...

he’s made deals with Democrats in a divided Congress

He made deals with Democrats because he agrees with them and not with Conservatives.

So how come Democrats NEVER make a deal. They ramrod their agenda without a pause. And they are all over Republicans for being unreasonable.

To: Sean_Anthony; All

Is there any viable conservative candidate for speaker - one who ACTUALLY has the votes to get elected?

If not Ryan than who? And if not Ryan, will we end up with someone worse?

The Hastert Rule needs to be adopted formally, not as a guideline. Amnesty has to be off the table. He should agree to the appropriations process, not the continuing resolution process. That would solve a lot of the issues. I doubt he will go along with those things.

Congress is always divided. The Republicans have held the majority since 2010. There has been no political need to compromise with Democrats in order to pass legislation. The GOPe has sought compromise with the Democrats in order to combat their real enemy, Conservatives.

Yeh right off the bat he wants to do away with the vacate the chair rule. So conservative. He will be trying to jam amnesty through before Trump can take office. But it looks like there isn’t anybody else so he’s probably the guy.

And Ryan has four perfectly reasonable conditions he wants his colleagues to meet before he runs:

1. Republicans have to become a party of proposition, not just opposition. Everyone knows what they’re against. They have to say what they’re for. And I would add, they have to do so in a way that’s designed to really speak to the nation rather than watering down their ideas so as not to draw media criticism, which is what they’ve typically done to date;

2. Change the House rules so everyone can contribute and be effective, and no more constant leadership challenges;

3. Every faction supports him, so he doesn’t have to waste his time upon becoming Speaker healing a fractured caucus;

4. He’s not giving up his family time. His kids are young and he has no intention of making them grow up without him.

re 1 and 2 are fine.

Re 3: Why do the "factions" have to support him, i.e., accommodate him? What will he do to win their support? Does he want to be inclusive or run it the way Boehner has with a top down approach? Does he want a blank check? If so, then this appears to be a deal-breaker.

Re 4: If Ryan cannot devote the needed time and energy to the job, then someone else needs to be found. This is the biggest deal-breaker of all.

Good afternoon.

We have contacted our rep and another that we know (Nugent, Bilirakis), and recommended Webster.

Even though I and the First lady have had disagreements with Webster, he is eminently qualified, and conservative.

Ryan (and writer Calabrese) make a lot of sense. I say, give Ryan a shot.
