And they're completely reasonable.
I know theres no getting through to those of you who think Paul Ryan is a RINO!!!!! because hes made deals with Democrats in a divided Congress. Anyone with a governing record is going to have things like that in his or her history, and if you dont understand that then I dont know what to tell you - except that youre going to spend your entire life shrieking that no one is acceptable to you and everyone whos ever done anything but talk is a sellout.
So Ill just let you shriek and try to talk to everyone else.
In six minutes here, Ryan makes it clear why hes the only House member who seems capable of getting support for all factions within the Republican caucus. He knows the stakes. He understands and can clearly explain exactly what the problems are with this presidency - and unlike John Boehner, when he tells you, he sounds like he actually means it as opposed to merely mouthing the words that his staff told him the great unwashed need to hear.
*snort*
Absolutely what need as Speaker is another pro amnesty deal maker! Or.......................we could try something different for a change and find someone that still has a pair.
Funny...under NO conditions do we approve of this RINO POS.
The GOP keeps inching closer to extinction.
msg sent to my congresscritter to IGNORE Ryan.....
The word ;)&: comes to mind. But I can’t say it
He was such a clown on the Mitt ticket.
All the man has ever done is have a five minute videoed rant on Obamacare funding in front of Obama. It put the weasel on the map. Other than that, he’s done nothing but be a RINO weasel clown show.
I sent Bill Gates my employment demands. He has not yet replied.
One of out local talk show hosts (Charley Sykes WTMJ) here in WI is busy defending him citing everything, but his votes on a number of issues, which is the real reason why he has opposition to that post.
Imagine if this SOB was president! His way or else!
So far 2 of the 3 “Young Guns” are gone. Hopefully #3 will be out soon.
Well I’ll tell you want I have done, and how it’s turned out....I called Jason Chaffetz and left a message that I don’t want Ryan, and I am very upset that he removed himself as speaker, that I would not encourage anyone to re-elect him.....haven’t heard back, which I didn’t expect to...
I also called Mia Love, and left the same message, and now answer back...even left my email address for them to contact me....nothing...
So when you go to the polls to vote and you have tried to talk to your Representatives or Senators and they don’t respond to you, then when they come around for your vote, tell them NO...and elect the new kid on the block...we are not getting anywhere with this group, so get rid of them...
He made deals with Democrats because he agrees with them and not with Conservatives.
So how come Democrats NEVER make a deal. They ramrod their agenda without a pause. And they are all over Republicans for being unreasonable.
Is there any viable conservative candidate for speaker - one who ACTUALLY has the votes to get elected?
If not Ryan than who? And if not Ryan, will we end up with someone worse?
The Hastert Rule needs to be adopted formally, not as a guideline. Amnesty has to be off the table. He should agree to the appropriations process, not the continuing resolution process. That would solve a lot of the issues. I doubt he will go along with those things.
Does he think he is king of the house? Gag me! I think he is on Team BO and he and others will sell this country into land of no return!
Yeh right off the bat he wants to do away with the vacate the chair rule. So conservative. He will be trying to jam amnesty through before Trump can take office. But it looks like there isn’t anybody else so he’s probably the guy.
1. Republicans have to become a party of proposition, not just opposition. Everyone knows what theyre against. They have to say what theyre for. And I would add, they have to do so in a way thats designed to really speak to the nation rather than watering down their ideas so as not to draw media criticism, which is what theyve typically done to date;
2. Change the House rules so everyone can contribute and be effective, and no more constant leadership challenges;
3. Every faction supports him, so he doesnt have to waste his time upon becoming Speaker healing a fractured caucus;
4. Hes not giving up his family time. His kids are young and he has no intention of making them grow up without him.
re 1 and 2 are fine.
Re 3: Why do the "factions" have to support him, i.e., accommodate him? What will he do to win their support? Does he want to be inclusive or run it the way Boehner has with a top down approach? Does he want a blank check? If so, then this appears to be a deal-breaker.
Re 4: If Ryan cannot devote the needed time and energy to the job, then someone else needs to be found. This is the biggest deal-breaker of all.
Pair of what in Washington? That is why we need Trump, he has a pair and owes nobody a damn thing. There is not a Republican in the House that would make the kind of Speaker we need. None! Washington is nothing but a marble outhouse. When I was a kid we have one out back and it had a slate roof. (Back in the 30s and 40s and was a Cadillac in the Village.)
