This video shot of a herd of deer near a fence line getting spooked by something. See the video here.
We’ve lived out in the boonies for 30 yrs. We have lots of
deer come up in the yard and forage. We’ve never hunted
them. They would not know what to think if we ever are
forced by necessity to shoot one of them for food. We
posted our land; and they have free run of the place.
Or 1800s Indians. More than once I read that French and British generals had their allies bolt before or during a battle when an omen of Bad Medicine appeared - stuff like a cloud blotting out the sun or a crow flying overhead.
This may be of interest to you, Darks....:)
This is so simple. Watch the video, and you’ll see that from the viewer’s right, the initial event captured is that there come running up from the right one or more deer with the white-tail “flag” up (their built-in community alarm symbol), and at the end come even more running hard from even further back in the woods. So, something back in the woods spooked just one or a few deer, and his/their panic and running is what spooked the rest. When they’ve gotten a “good” distance away from the alarm center, and none is feeling a threat, they all stop and look around, to see if there is any new or continuing threat.
Yellowstone?
In the original 2013 clip, you can hear a vehicle. I’m guessing someone drove around and tried to get pics head on...and they reversed themselves.
The Cal Sportsman tag is misleading. Those are Fallow Deer. Natural habitat, Iraq, Iran, Israel....that region. As to what spooked ‘em? Could have been anything, including that the first one simply jumped the fence and the rest followed. What makes a flock of birds take off all at once? The first one does, startling the rest, away they go. No logic involved.
This sounds very similar to what goes on in the financial markets almost every day.
Oh, good Bunny.
I’d put it down to being Deer, and a mouse farted.
Deer get spooked by pretty much anything.
A crow laughing at them for example.
