Heck, the Marines do that all the time with iron sites, no big deal. Ok, so maybe I’m exaggerating just a little. :^)

When I was at my best, I could manage 6” at 600 yards. Now I’m lucky to hit paper at 200.

3800 yards - I would have hit someone in the next state.

Hat tip for an excellent shot.

Meh. Cool on its face, but I think they said it took 14 shots to do it. By then, any live target would have skedaddled, or returned fire.

Hell, I could win the Masters Golf Tournament if I had 14 shots at every ball.

They should put limitations on the number of tries at a particular configuration. Two tries would be generous.

Meh. Cool on its face, but it took 18 shots to do it. By then, any live target long ago would have skedaddled, or returned fire.

Hell, I could win the Masters Golf Tournament if I had 18 shots at every ball.

They should put limitations on the number of tries at a particular configuration. Two tries would be generous.

Sorry for the double post. It took 18, not 14 shots. Not very practical.

(Maybe if I had 18 shots at posting, I’d get it right.)

How do we know that there wasn’t someone closer, plinking with a .22?

I’d have to call in arty or an air strike to hit something that far away. Great shot.

Coriolis effect, Magnus effect, Mirage, Wind, Density Altitude etc have to be a first class bitch at that range ...... I know its hard as extreme long range shooting is my addiction / hobby. My mentors and local subject matter experts and favorite studies are Cal Zant from “precision rifle blog” down in Lubbock, David Tubbs with “Superior Shooting Systems”up in Canadian Texas and Todd Hodnett from Accuracy First International up who’s also up in Canadian Texas..... Those three are my go to for Tech, Experience and Skill. Hill Country Rifles are very very well made tools.

The gold goes to the shooter that can consistently make a cold bore hit at 1752 meters on a torso sized target first time.....

I know this shot was as tough as it gets but shy of target or milk jug, apollo challenge sort of slinging lead till something sticks to the wall isn’t my favorite game. But fun to watch and a necessary process to learn to dope your shot and gear.

My opinion...Stay Safe !!

While that’s very impressive at some point shouldn’t you just use a missile.

I don’t think I’ve got anything in the safe that would even go that far.

Maybe a .300 Savage if you pointed it at the moon.
