Carly Fiorina Was Paid $48,000 For A Speech To Bank That Violated U.S. Sanctions On Iran

Republican presidential candidate and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina — a vocal critic of lifting economic sanctions on Iran as part of the nuclear deal — delivered a paid speech to French bank BP Paribas in June of last year, six days after the Wall Street Journal reported the bank was the subject of a federal criminal probe for flouting U.S. economic sanctions on Iran.

According to a June 2015 financial disclosure, Fiorina was paid $48,000 for the speech on June 3, 2014. The Wall Street Journal’s report, last updated on May 29, 2014, said that U.S. authorities were pressuring BNP Paribas to pay over $10 billion to resolve a criminal probe that the bank dodged U.S. sanctions. “The push to secure a high-dollar penalty, along with a guilty plea from BNP, stems in part from what prosecutors viewed as the bank’s longtime flouting of U.S. economic sanctions against Iran, Sudan and other countries, the people said. Investigators were also frustrated with what they believe was a sluggish start to the bank’s internal investigation and slow response to requests by prosecutors for documents and interviews with employees, according to the people familiar with the discussions,” the Journal reported.

Fiorina’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment for this story.

Is there anyone who doesn’t believe these outrageous fees for speeches by political players are just legalized bribery/influence buying? Nobody was paying Hillary $200K for an hour of her wit and political insight.

There seems to be a lot of digging. The more that’s found the more dirt dug.

I’d like to see some digging into Carly Fiorina Enterprises.

Fiorina failed to register business, foundation

July 10, 2009

Contacted Thursday by The Chronicle, Fiorina’s office confirmed that neither her charitable foundation nor Fiorina Enterprises has been registered with state or federal authorities. A spokeswoman said Fiorina and her staff believe the foundation is not required to file with the IRS because it accepts no outside contributions and donates only her personal wealth to worthy causes.

Fiorina Enterprises is a nonprofit enterprise that helps Fiorina structure speaking engagements and appearances while providing the public with information about her activities, the spokeswoman said. If an oversight involving either organization is found, Fiorina would correct it, the spokeswoman said.

“NEW YORK — Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said on The Tonight Show on Monday that she believes a Muslim shouldn’t be prevented from serving as president.

Fiorina’s comments came a day after fellow Republican candidate Ben Carson sparked controversy on NBC’s Meet the Press when he said that he does not believe a Muslim should hold the nation’s highest office.”

there seems to be a lot of digging

It does seem that some very excellent researchers have been tasked to take down Carly while Dr. Carson self destructs.

It shouldn't even be an issue. We're getting snookered. The guy who challenged Trump was a plant. The kid clock maker was a plant. And the Dems are laughing their a**** off as we try to come up with some kind of acceptable response.

Look at the timing....almost simultaneous.

The constitution is very clear. There is no religious test for any office.

The voters can do as they wish.

And there is no stipulation in the swearing in for "so help me God"....or a bible...

And I believe with all my heart that the election of Obama was rigged...both times.

According to Chief Justice Roberts:

Politicians are expected to be appropriately responsive to the preferences of their supporters. Indeed, such “responsiveness is key to the very concept of self-governance through elected officials.”

Apparently, our politicians are supposed to be for sale.

Clinton Global Initiative panel--Carly, Bill Clinton and then-MTP host David Gregory.

Did Carly (or HP) donate to the Clintons, their campaigns, CGI?

To the buck-raking Clinton Foundation?

Did Fiorina Enterprises reveal any of her dealings w/ the Clintons....financial or otherwise?

So if we find any instances where Trump did business with people or companies that were suspected of breaking a law, then he should be held accountable for their actions as well, right?

She hasn’t to my knowledge. Like a true Alinsky she pointed out Trumps relationship to Clintons but failed to mention her own.

She knew before her speech. The bank made the WSJ and you can bet she was told....and ignored it.

$48,000, that’s pretty light compared to the Clinton Crime Family.

I'm sure she knew that the bank was being investigated. So the fact that she made a speech to a company that was being investigated (had not been proven at that time to have done anything illegal) somehow makes her complicit in their deeds? I am not sure how a conservative buys into this guilt by association business, but as long as you are willing to hold Trump to the same standard, okay. Let's see how many companies or individuals Trump has done business with despite the fact that they were under investigation or previously guilty of some infraction, and impute their guilt to him.

I’d like to know how much FioRINO earned from Clinton Inc, for her appearance with Slick. Wonder what the compensation was.

The Trumps (goes back generations ) are very open about who they deal with. Donald has openly admitted to knowing and dealing with some very tough characters
CF on the other hand points her finger at others but neglects to admit her own involvement. That is the difference

Her relationship with Hillary (whom she would have supported if she were not employed by McCain*) is just one example.

*Her words not mine
