The commentary from Angela Merkel was not leaving me with any warm fuzzies. It actually makes sense that the Eastern part of Germany isn't happy about this. I would expect people who have endured austerity and harsher conditions to be less empathetic to foreign migrants. They have had their own problems to deal with. It seems to me that Liberalism always stems from overabundance and prosperity, and that Conservatism always stems from the school of hard knocks. Tytler noticed this a couple of hundred years ago.

I just got a text message from a friend of mine in Croatia, he’s 26.
