Ive written several pieces on Donald Trump. Reaction to these musings either fire up the Trumpsters wrath or garner me their instant support. Im accused of being an establishment lackey or Im lauded as a Trump supporter. But nothing Ive written is that black and white. My takeaway from these responses is that Im not getting my point across.
However, being nearly as stubborn as Trump, I refuse to give up. So today Ill approach the subject in a manner that all men and most women will get. Im going to use a sports analogy. Football. Oops, is that sexist?
Anyway, in this scenario Republican conservatives are the offense. For non-sports types that means we have the ball and to win the game we must move it across the goal line. The Red team has three wide receivers, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Scott Walker. Its their job to catch the ball and run with it. Our tight end is Donald Trump. He can both receive and block.
The Republican establishment and their crony allies are the defense, the Blue team. They had the ball and were halfway down the field when the Reds intercepted. Now theyre the defense, meaning they have to stop the Reds. Theyre flush with 400 lb. line-backers and tackles with just one missionto annihilate the Reds.
And we have our referees, each being a member of the mainstream media. It is their duty to enforce the rules.
Unfortunately, going into the game, most of the Red receivers suffer from injuries sustained in previous contests. Not enough to take them out but enough to slow them down.
Governor Walker was hit with a blitz while quarterbacking for Wisconsin. He was rushed by the powerful unions and their Democrat team mates who...

Good analogy.
She’s got Walker on the wrong team.
I don’t consider Walker to be part of the Red Team. Anyone who has George Will’s wife as a staffer is not part of the Red Team.
Somewhat. But any serious presidential candidate is not looking to “hand the ball off” to a competitor unless he(or she) is soundly beaten.
BTTT!
The game is over before it begins.
“I dont consider Walker to be part of the Red Team. Anyone who has George Wills wife as a staffer is not part of the Red Team.”
So you’d ignore what he has been able to accomplish in his state despite rabid, over the top, full bore leftist opposition and an illegal (IMHO) John Doe investigation because who one of his staffers are married to? Sorry, your opinion doesn’t hold much weight with me then.
We have fan organizations recording the refs with telephoto lens- the new media.
FR is basically about the circular firing squad in POTUS election years.
No candidate is pure enough.
Reagan circa 1976-80 would have been shredded if we had the internet back then.
So I was working for this company, and the CEO constantly used sport analogies. One of the women asked him why he always used sport analogies. And he said, "There's nothing that women agree on like men agree on sports." Then he thought for a second and said, "Maybe weddings?"
I'm sitting there thinking, Hey that's brilliant, yeah Weddings.
And the woman said, "NO". And I busted out laughing because she just proved his point. If not weddings then there is nothing that women agree on.
Sorry, but I don’t care about your opinion. Whether he is GOPe or not, Walker has been a lackluster candidate. He has no energy nor is he particularly articulate. The debate did not help him. Unless he can find a way to connect with voters, he is toast.
