does this story mention obama’s numerous lengthy vacays?
I was out of work so long that going back to work was like taking a vacation.
Years.
I’m going to retire to get one.
2012
We haven’t been away for a whole week in years. We do 2 or 3 long weekend get aways a year.
42% have been on “vacation” the whole time
I wonder whether the 34% on welfare counted as going without a vacation, since they cannot take time off from the work they don’t have, or are they the ones vacationing while taxpayers cannot afford to take time off?
Granted I've done that recently, but I doubt moving one's folks into assisted living counts as a vacation. :-(
Obama is taking our vacations for us. We are to look at his lifestyle of mansions and golf outings, and feel better knowing that a poor little black boy (who was raised by his bank executive grandmother and got sent to one of the country’s top prep schools) can now enjoy vacations without being subjected to discrimination, segregation and bigotry. Remember, black lives matter! And other lives don’t.
2008 was the last time I took an actual vacation. I did go to Gettysburg this week, but I did it in a day so I wouldn’t have to pay for a hotel room.
Poor Florida residents who live in vacationland never get vacations. Disney, Universal, world-class beaches, the space center, resorts, and cruises—all within driving distance. It’s horrid being stuck here without our three days of fall color and being cursed with endless sunshine and warmth in the middle of winter. Work, work, work—no vacations. Woe is us.
I like taking a few short vacations every year. Interstate highway chaos because of semis and construction, less pleasant hotel experiences, horrendous weather in some places I’d like to visit, and now having to worry about out of control protestors in some cities all make the thought of a few days vacation less appealing.
Even more obviously garbage data than usual.
What’s a vacation? I’ve spent every non-work day off for the past 20 years dealing with family issues and caring for ill relatives including my dying father. That last was a combo of my accrued time and family leave and the company canned me over the phone a week after he died.
I haven’t gone anywhere for a purely recreational purpose since the last century, literally.
I am in a new job now and currently have 90 hours of accrued leave after nearly a year, and this has to cover sick, vacation, personal AND holidays which are not freebie days.
Burned out? Yeah a bit. But I have a lot of company.
