Liberals Pounce On Bobby Jindal’s Immigration Line In Debate, But He’s Right

by IAN TUTTLE August 7, 2015 ‘Immigration without assimilation is an invasion.”

It’s a snappy line Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal lobbed onto the early-bird debate stage last night. It has the cadences of the colonists’ “No taxation without representation,” and, unlike its historical antecedent, it has the advantage of being not merely a cri de coeur, but an incisive truth. Naturally, therefore, the Left is having none of it. Bree Newsome, the “activist” who Mulan’ed her way up a South Carolina flagpole in July to remove a Confederate flag — in opposition to racism, remember — tweeted angrily about the governor’s line, sending out pictures of a citizen-painted portrait of the governor that briefly made headlines in February for its peculiarly pale-faced Governor Jindal.

Anthea Butler, a professor of religious studies and Africana studies at the University of Pennslyvania, tweeted that the moderators should “ask Bobby Jindal if he is white or not.”

And today at the Huffington Post, Marina Fang suggests that Jindal’s belief that immigrants should assimilate is “antiquated”: “Many experts and scholars of immigration say his views are from a bygone era, and both the idea and the process of assimilation is complicated.” In typical progressive fashion, Ms. Fang’s “experts” equate “new” with “correct.”

But here the evidence is surely for the tried-and-true. The applause line to which liberals repair in the immigration debate — “Immigrants are what have made America great”– is at best a half-truth. Immigrants have been so spectacularly successful in America not despite, but because they desired to be knit into the fabric of a larger, distinctly “American” society.

It is the truth.

When large numbers of people enter your country without permission, bringing with them their language and culture, it is notimmigration. It is much closer to colonization. It is certainly a violation.

Deportation is the cure.

We had no legal immigration for decades before the 60s to allow the others to assimilate.

Blame Kennedy for the H1B Visas. Tsunami of Indians with their own rituals, culture, language, culinary habits, attire, and religion.

Immigrants must assimiliate into the mainstream culture of the country they choose to live in. That’s fact and here goes the typical liberal response that Jindal is “white” and he’s a sellout. So tired of this. Jindal and other conservatives of color believe in the individual and that skin color is no obstacle to independent achievement and success. These Black and Hispanic activists are always calling people of color who disagree with them sellouts, but who are the ones on their hands and knees begging for government programs, which are controlled and doled out by mostly white bureaucrats in local, state, and federal governments? I call these leftists of color the real sellouts.

I hope he has learned from Trump and doubles down.

No backing up, no apologizing. Multicult is another thing to take a sledge hammer to.

As a person of color myself I agree completely. These race baiting lefties of all colors are the ones responsible for the racial divide in this country. Jindal needs to reiterate what he just said and add on to it.

I like Jindahl’s line! “Immigration without assimilation is invasion!” Very good!

I thought all of the commie, raghead liberal DemocRATS said that they didn’t watch these debates. How in the hell would these extremist maggots know what Jindal said?

Bobby Jindal is absolutely right ... and this is no recent revelation. It has always been true, but we’ve allowed Fantasy Island liberals to frame the debate in their bankrupt “diversity” theme.

Carve this in stone: Immigration without assimilation in invasion.

Canada touted herself and aspiring to be a salad bowl, not a melting pot. Fast forward thirty years, and Canadians lament that there is no sense of nationalism, no pride in being Canadian. Do tell.

Only a liberal could lecture the son of Indian immigrants who rose to be governor of a southern state on how his views of assimilation are wrong. Liberals have no sense of irony.

Many years ago I came to this country from Spain as a graduate student. My rule was to steer away from any Spanish anything. I did not join any Spanish student club, I turned down an invitation from the embassy to attend a reception to king Juan Carlos, and before I knew it I was fluent in English and my accent was the only difference between me and the American graduate students. I have consistently refused to “press 1 for Spanish” or get an interpreter when doing paperwork. All I can say is that B. Jindal is 100% right and that those people who refuse to assimilate should be summarily deported.

I hate to come here and say it but...THAT IS eerily close to MY QUOTE about illegal immigration. Check my home page. I came up with that years ago, I am glad SOMEONE quotes it, and I praise Jindal for having the GUTS to use it! Hell, it's been my tagline for about a year...

He's not the only one, but like Reagan said, there is no telling how far a man or his country can go, if he doesn't mind who gets the credit for his quotes...

Here’s the candidate that got crapped on the worst coming out of the debates.

He WON the first debate, not Carly, and everyone is ignoring him.
