A question came up at last night's debate over whether Donald Trump would support the GOP nominee if it weren't him. But the same question could easily be asked about Jeb Bush. Because when there is a primary and a conservative candidate gets nominated over an establishment one, very often establishment GOP types don't support the nominee or actively support the Democrat.
That's what happened in Virginia when conservative Ken Cuccinelli got nominated over the establishment candidate.
Lt. Governor Bill Bolling never did endorse Cuccinelli, and was outed as a traitor to the Republican Party when it was revealed he lobbied the Northern Virginia Technology Councils PAC board to endorse McAuliffe over Cuccinelli.
Similarly, the national leadership of the Republican Party engaged in a summer-long whispering campaign against Ken Cuccinelli that more or less mirrored the Democrats charge that Cuccinelli is an extremist and the organizations controlled by national Republicans gave only nominal support to Cuccinelli.

Ha. His personal inclination would be to run to Hillary and propose a unity ticket but he won’t because he’s trying to push Geo. P. (that’s pronounced gee oh pee) Bush up through the TX GOP ranks now.
of course he will support the nominee .. and wait his turn. :-) Jeb Bush is like a turd that won’t flush and will not be going away
Too late. Fox screwed up and asked the wrong question. Singling out The Donald lost the high ground on media bias in one fell swoop.
The Bushes have done so much to hurt the party. They took it away from Reagan Republicans and gave us the GOPe.
Same thing happened to Christine O’Donnell after she beat Castle in the primary. All that dirt was thrown to her (leaked IRS stuff) etc. starting the next day after her win by the republicans.
A more likely question is will I and we support the Republican candidate if it is Bush.
The gopE also supported a democrat over a republican in Mississippi to get their “elite” brain dead old man back in.
O’Donnell was also savaged by Tokyo Rove and (Sour)Krauthammer after she defeated the Incumbent Liberal Republican!
They actually left a Castle billboard up in Newark during the entire general election cycle.
Would Jeb Bush agree to be a VP candidate?
I think not.
My guess for VP is Fiorini.
Those who would also be well-served by accepting that slot if they don’t come in first place would be Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, Carson, Christie.
The only 2 that could deliver a state that we don’t already have locked up are Rubio, Kasich, and Christie.
What is the answer for no in Spanish?
Also for undermine and backstab?
“Fox screwed up and asked the wrong question. Singling out The Donald lost the high ground on media bias in one fell swoop.”
I envision Saturday Night Live portraying all the candidates at their podiums fighting to keep their hands down when the ridiculous Chris Wallace tried so utterly unsuccessfully to trap only Donald Trump. The sliminess of the question was palpable to all.
