Sen. Ted Cruz and billionaire Donald Trump may be warring for the same White House post, but theyve nevertheless cast aside politics to push a defund Planned Parenthood strategy, hoping their star-power status will press legislators to add a rider to a bill moving on Capitol Hill that would cut the organizations finances.
Trump gave his official rubber-stamp to the plan during Monday evening remarks, despite the fact Democrats vowed to oppose any bill containing such rider, Politico reported.
Call it Obamacare redux. This is the same maneuver Cruz tried with Obamacare in 2013; now, the Texas senator is hoping for a more successful outcome.
[I want to] use very took available to stop funding what appears to be a criminal enterprise, Cruz said, after the Senate failed to pass a standalone bill defunding Planned Parenthood, Politico said.
This time, he has Trumps support....

The way this is played out...Trump I believe will win the Presidency....Cruz gets to be AG for four years, and then is put forward to be on the Supreme Court, which I think was his top goal.
Walker,Rubio, Fiorina and Paul along with several others are together on this one as well. The gaggle of ghoul gals, and their Mengele predelictions have the spotlight now.
What’s that? DeFUND PP, not DeFEND PP. Oh, so glad I didn’t jump to the wrong conclusion.
The perfidy of the Boner/Turtle “leadership” team angers me. They should have already done this.
What makes you think they want to?
It’s all about the circular flow of money from the RINO’s in DC to PP and then back into their PAC’s from PP. It’s not the “circle of life” it’s the circle of death.
I know that McConnell does not want to but I believe that most republicans want to. McConnell showed his butt on it by not allowing it into the highway bill.
Republicans run on pro life issues. What would they run on if they couldn’t be opposition to abortion?
No. They need abortion. They could have fixed this a very long time ago. It’s forty years They’re worthless They know it. We know it . They know we know it
They have homo marriage now, they do not need it anymore.
They’re not opposing homosexual marriage.
They’re running a liberal for president
The only thing they’re opposing now is conservatism
>> Cruz gets to be AG for four years, and then is put forward to be on the Supreme Court, which I think was his top goal.
No, I think Ted’s top goal *is* to be President.
However, he is a true Christian and is life really *is* informed by the teaching and example of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, for Ted, putting into place a right-thinking administration is more important than his personal role in it. He will humbly and readily ally with others he sees as having the same ideals, and take a lesser role in the resulting administration if that is what is required of him.
Ted Cruz is (IMO) a genuine, honest, GOD-seeking man. The sort we admiringly refer to as “a good man”.
How about this ?
Ted Cruz elected POTUS, serves two terms.
Then appointed as SCOTUS Chief Justice for life.
Break out the champaign !!!!!!!
Pretty much.
Trump/Cruz 2016. Think about it.
Go ahead. Shut the government down for a week or two. It’s not like the world will end if that happens... Again!
Has it been three or four times under Obama’s tyranny? I’ve lost count. Though the Left always returns fire in ways that make them look like even bigger elitist jackasses.
The Dems and Libs will scream. As the always do. To no avail. And Republicans will garner even more House and Senate seats come the Mid Terms.
Has anyone looked at laws regarding recalling a US senator ?
I would donate money and Time to recalling this KStreet front man,.
This should be a slam-dunk. The practices are so egregious and disgusting that even people who are nominally- to moderately-"pro choice" should find them abhorrent.
I have no reason to give McConnell the benefit of the doubt, but if it were in the highway bill, it'd be dead anyway because of the stupid Ex/Im rider tat the House isn't going to pass.
