Why Trump Resonates & Why the left doesn’t get it in one image

Here is the exchange that those headlines refer to:

KARL: Would President Trump authorize waterboarding and other enhanced interrogation techniques, even torture?

TRUMP: I would be inclined to be very strong. When people are chopping off other people’s heads and then we’re worried about waterboarding and we can’t, because I have no doubt that that works. I have absolutely no doubt.

KARL: You’d bring back waterboarding?

TRUMP: …you mention waterboarding, which was such a big subject. I haven’t heard that term in a year now, because when you see the other side chopping off heads, waterboarding doesn’t sound very severe.

Now if you are not familiar with how things work. What both the right and the left will often do is grab something from an interview and not how radical it is, how unacceptable it is, how it shows a temperament that does not reflect well on the person in question.

So take a look at that sub headline from Crooks & Liars and let this fact sink in.

To the people at Crooks and Liars Donald Trump’s statement that: “when you see the other side chopping off heads, waterboarding doesn’t sound very severe.” is a statement so outrageous that they believe they can make political hay out if it.

However to any sane human being not only is that statement objectively true but I suspect to the American voter hearing about women being sold into sexual slavery by our ISIS foes

But the Islamic State’s “revival” of the institution of chattel slavery—sex slavery of Christian and Yizidi women and girls no less—has faded from public attention.

Over the past decade, thousands of Iraqi and Syrian Christians—including, in 2013, an entire convent of Syrian Orthodox nuns—have been taken captive for ransom. Last August, shortly after ISIS established its caliphate, it began something new. After capturing non-Sunni women and girls, ISIS began awarding and selling them as sex slaves. The vast majority were Yizidis but some, according to UN reports, were Christians.

Boasting about it and justifying it under islam:

“One should remember that enslaving the families of the kuffar — the infidels — and taking their women as concubines is a firmly established aspect of the Shariah, or Islamic law,” the group says in an online magazine published Sunday.

…said voters might conclude that waterboarding is much too good for them.

But apparently not to those on the left, at least not to those who read crooks and liars.

This article contains many good observations, and explains the (no so) “remarkable” rise of Trump’s candidacy. The good news is that the more they try to “get” him, the better the message gets through.

But...I’ll say it again; he DESPERATELY needs professional handlers and coaches (who he will actually listen to). What he has, will only go so far. He needs to back it up with facts, plans, and so on.

I will say, that he will NOT make all Republicans happy. I disagree with many of his previous positions and I’m pretty iffy on his personal life. But, how happy will they be with Clinton? At this point, those may be the choices. There are a lot of Republican candidates who I would vote for, who have somewhere between no and zero chances of actually winning. This is not their fault, its due to the general stupidity of the voting public and the media who are responsible for their...uhhh... “education”.

I wish Trump would talk about present-day spa dry. It’s a much bigger issue than the beheadings. And much bigger than ISIS. Slavery of no -Muslims by Muslims today. In Africa. And in many other places.

trump understands the power of words and the need to be honest and open with the evaluation of political situations.
The biggest problem in politics is that most those running for political office have gotten there by trying to get the public to believe that they stand for one thing when they actually stand for another. rather then arguing for the position they believe is right most politicians try to get the general public to believe that most of the positions they hold are the one the public hold
Because of they hold the same positions you hold you should vote for them.
Donald trump is not doing that what he is doing is stating his position on something and taking the chips where they land.Several times the media has tried to get him to apologize for taking a position that in the medias mind is wrong and each time instead of apologizing he has doubled down and reiterated his position.

Several politicians have tried to claim the mantle of Ronald Reagan over the years they have tried to claim his genius and have not measured up in this......the fact is that Donald trump is doing a lot of what Reagan did when he campaigned. everyone including enemy and friend knew exactly what Reagans positions were there was no ambiguity in any of it. with Donald trump you are getting that. I don’t think he is trying to claim Reagans mantel. I think he is trying to show his colors and let every one no if you vote for trump these are my policies and this is why you should agree with my policies.
