The left loves memes that bash “congress” as opposed to “government”, since in their minds that’s the same as bashing the GOP. At least from personal experience, I know all my lefty FB friends have used memes like that much more frequently when the GOP started having control of Congress (and even when it was just the house, since colloquially, some view the term “Congress” as meaning just the House).

So for that reason, I’m not crazy about this meme, since it’s basically serving a leftist goal - to equate all that’s negative and incompetent about the federal government with the GOP.

In that light the message is really in the eye of the beholder, isn’t it? As someone who is the polar opposite of a leftist I can’t totally agree, even though I understand what you’re saying.
