This is a classic.

In 1994, ferals took shots at one of my biker friends who was standing around in range of the projects, the cops got called and *we* all got shaken down.

*Of course* the scary bikers did it, not one of the protected species. /s

They let us go after not finding *anything* but it was still 2 hours of Hell, staring into the barrel of a Mossberg.
