Ryan Reynolds: I support same-sex marriage because I’m not a monster

Actor Ryan Reynolds has said that he supports same-sex marriage because he’s “not a monster”.

The Deadpool star was speaking to HuffPost Live, discussing homophobes who said they were ‘moving to Canada’ over the issue – despite Canada also having marriage equality.

He was asked: “What are your thoughts on gay marriage? Obviously you’re not opposed to it.”

Reynolds replied: “No. I’m not a monster! I think it’s fantastic. It’s been legal in Canada for ten years now. To me [the opposition] just seems crazy.

“I find it amusing how polarising it can be here. Ted Cruz is saying it’s judicial tyranny. To me it seems very humane. Like a given.

“We shouldn’t be in a state of awe and celebration for it, we should be taking it for granted, like regular marriage.”

Explaining his tweets mocking homophobic Republican Mike Huckabee, he joked: “Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindal… these guys, they have these pretty hard line, you know, conservative politics that I just, to me are just funny.”

Huckabee is among the Republican candidates to have signed a pledge that describes same-sex parents as “unconscionable and destructive” and a “threat to security”.

He has made a number of anti-LGBT comments in the past, ‘joking’ earlier this year that he wishes he were transgender so he could spy on teenage girls in the shower.

The Republican has also claimed that child molestation is “not unforgivable”, while defending his ardent supporter and anti-gay activist Josh Duggar.

I guess calling conservatives monsters and mocking them is the new way to gin up publicity for a movie. I won’t be seeing whatever this fool is in unless it is free on cable, and even then I doubt I will.

Have absolutely no idea who “Ryan Reynolds” is.

Nor do I wish to find out.

He’s a crap actor anyway, so you won’t be missing anything. Most of what he touches bombs badly.

"Ryan Reynolds: I support same-sex marriage because I’m not a monster"

If you're not a monster why do you not care that these fellow human beings have an obvious mental disorder and/or serious genetic defect?

Some one paid to parrot others words as a living. His opinion is no more or less valid than any other persons. Its sad that is vocation makes people think him smarter than his views show him to be.

"“We shouldn’t be in a state of awe and celebration for it, we should be taking it for granted, like regular marriage.”"

So, according to his statement above, gay marriage is irregular. Why can't these dumb ass celebrities keep their opinions to themselves and just SHTU and act?

It should be taken for granted like regular marriage, just like it has been for the last 10,000 years. /s/

We need to adopt that tactic

“Do you support Obamacare? “

“Gosh No I am not a monster- I don’t believe in government destroying everyone’s health care with lies that it will take care of a few more”

Gee, I wonder what he is inferring? I’ll have to think about it while I’m sharpening my Fangs.

Does this Brainiac have an Opinion on Incestuous Marriage and Polygamous Marriage as well? How about the First and Tenth Amendments.

If so, I can hardly wait to hear it.
